No one can buy my love.
Can you BUY someone's LOVE?
06/27/2012
I know of people that tried it (mothers and daughters) but it never worked, the strain was lessened for a short period of time but the fighting and arguments always came back. So I personally would never try it.
06/27/2012
I don't think you can. I agree with others that it can buy other things.
06/27/2012
Oooh...I LOVE the Beatles! Money can't buy me love but I think money can definitely by some people love.

You can't buy love, just obligation, responsibility and a sense of ownership. I would not let myself fall for anyone who values money that much. It helps in an honest relationship to reduce stress and add a few luxuries--but not love. True love is the only thing that is given--not purchased.

It can't buy me love.
06/27/2012
Not at all.
06/27/2012
If you're trying to buy love, all you're going to get is a gold digger to hang around until the money is gone...then you're just a sucker!
06/27/2012
You can buy affection and fondness, but not love.
06/27/2012
no!
06/27/2012
You cannot buy love. Love is just something that happens. You can buy sexytimes with money depending on the person though. HOHOHO.
06/27/2012
I believe that money can't buy me love. Love is a strong emotion to me and money is only material
06/27/2012
no, you might think your in love
06/27/2012
not really
06/28/2012
Maybe lust, but not love.
06/28/2012
Money can't buy love, but it sure as hell can attract gold diggers.
06/28/2012
Nope. You can only buy sex, and maybe friends if you spoil people rotten. You can't buy that connection of love though.

I don't care too much for money
For money can't buy me love
Can't buy me love
Everybody tells me so
Can't buy me love
No no no, no
Say you don't need no diamond rings
And I'll be satisfied
Tell me that you want the kind of things
That money just can't buy
I don't care too much for money
Money can't buy me love
Can't buy me love, love
Can't buy me love, oh
So do you think there is any truth to this song as it relates to your life's experiences? Do you need more information about the other person, before you can decide? What would it take to buy your LOVE or is the concept completely phony? less

So in your sister's case, you would describe her more as a 'gold digger', rather than looking for some type of Sugar Daddy! Thanks Kendra for sharing your perspective.

Honestly, I have to say you can't. At least in my experience and for myself, you can't. Maybe other people's love can be bought, but not this girl. I'll admit, it does help! Ha Ha. Im kind of kidding. I know a girl (one of my sisters... SHHH! LOL) who do feel that their love can be bought. Well, it's more like, if you buy me things, I'll PRETEND to love you. It's wild, but she's actually pretty proud to admit this. Lol. She's in the process of working someone over right as we speak and she's giddy about it! Lol.
As for me, I have a bigger heart. My sister enjoys this kind of "lifestyle" and she tells me she feels empowered by it. Me, I am the total opposite. Strange since we happen to be twins! Of course I feel special when someone thinks of me and does do kind things for me, but that does not only apply to material things or money. My mom's way of showing love is by buying her loved ones things or doing something for us, like buying us something sentimental. It doesn't mean I'll give her love in return. I'm grateful and so happy, but it's mostly because she THOUGHT of me when she seen an owl necklace while on vacation and got it for me. I would've felt just as special had she simply brought me a seashell or sent me an "I'm thinking of you text message."
My partner, he likes to buy things for his loved ones too. He really loves it. I've never seen anyone so happy to buy for other people. It's nice. He gets excited to do it. That's what makes it so special.
I have had a guy try to buy my love with money and cigs. LOL. He'd bring me smokes every weekend in hopes of a date. I was a teenager then and according to him "he was in love." I made it clear that I didn't see him that way no matter how many smokes he bought me. He claimed not to care, but it wasn't true. He was desperate for a female. It still never made me love him, and I don't think money or anything material wise could make me really love someone. For me, it's either there or it isn't. less

I stand by my original answer, but I wanted to add that having some money lets you express your feelings in some fun ways!

Love (both the romantic kind and the platonic, friends and family kind) is something I believe has to be freely given, or at least isn't something that is owed. Mutual or one-sided debt of any kind shouldn't define such an emotion. On the other hand, you can definitely buy affection and sex, which can lead to some very confusing emotions if you aren't aware of what's happening.
