both
Do you buy generics or store brands?

I usually buy generics (cheaper!), but I rarely compromise on things that are important, like chocolate and birth control!

I even take the generic form of Prozac!

Both.

I sometimes buy store brands.

I buy both generics and name brands.

I usually buy name brands because they have manufacturer coupons and I can pair those with sales. Then it comes out to be cheaper than store brand prices.

I buy lots of generics, but if a name brand is on sale and is actually cheaper then I will get that.

For me it really depends on what it is.

Where do you get your coupons? I don't have a lot of spare time and I hate wading through the flyers from the grocery stores. Of the hundreds of items in the flyers, usually only a couple are even on my list.

I just buy whatever's cheapest among the options I know are good for the items on my list. I never stray from my list. Well...hardly ever!

I don't find generics sometimes, but there are some things that you just have to have the name brand. Like Heinz ketchup and Velveeta shells and cheese.

I get paper coupons out of the Sunday paper. Look for the actual coupon sections, not the fliers for individual stores.

Also, you can print coupons for items you pick at couponmom.com for free.
You can also get e-coupons for many grocery stores through their individual websites. To redeem them you usually just need to scan your loyalty card or enter your phone number at the register.

Both, but it depends on what the product is.

I buy a lot of generic. Usually it doesn't matter. There are some I very much prefer brand name though.

A mix, most of the generics are made my the name brand producers they just have a different label. Also the medications are the exact same because the FDA says so.

normally generics

We buy both. It really just depends, I like store brand mac and cheese so much more! There are a lot of random other things as well. A lot of the time there really isn't a difference.
I buy mostly store brands. Unless I've had a bad experience with a particular product (like Stop&Shop ginger ale. NEVER AGAIN.) I will always go for the cheaper one first.
