Good to know. This forum seems, in contrast to a lot of other forums, is very friendly and tolerant, and tends to really disarm a lot of potential abusers. When I used to Moderate a few other forums, there was so much strife, and it seemed so heartbreaking and bred bad blood to have to do this (banning etc.)

I believe we do have the ability to do this in extreme cases. However, according to our EoC, we must give three warnings before we give even a suspension. This can be time consuming but it does ensure no one gets treated unfairly.
So, say someone is spamming the forums and we get a few flags. We warn them. Not for each post or each flag, but for "spamming the forums and abusing points." Then, once we get a response from them, if they commit another infraction that is flagged or complained about, we warn again. And again. After three warnings, suspension. But we don't warn for each review, each post, etc.
If, after a suspension, the person continues to act poorly, we ban. We have not, as yet, had an issue with anyone who has been banned causing problems. less

I have to applaud Eden for developing a tolerant atmosphere as well as a forum, users and staff who contribute to the tolerance.
I know how hard it is when there is difficulty, and how much it sucks to have to "police" people (it was one of the reasons I stopped, the nearly constant need to "police" abusive users was actually effecting my health) and I think you all are doing a great job!
