I had my own small manual type writer when I was 5 that I wrote on for years. Then in high school I took typing and we had to use those huge manual typewriters. I heard that the class after ours learned on computers. (FYI-There were already plenty of computers the year I took that class, just not in that room). I missed out on word processors though. I couldn't afford one, lol. I'm in my late 20s BTW. (small town)

When I was at school we had electric typewriters which were so loud when everyone was typing so we couldn't hear the fire alarm once. Fortunately just a test.

They had electric typewriters in my school computer labs, but they were on the back shelf and we were taught to type on the newer computer keyboards.
