Oh, Sam, I know you read it (It's so hard to convey tone in text. I'm sorry.) I know you got it, it was a general statement.

I did read it, I know companies have pulled themselves out of worse situations, but I've only seen a few make it onto this list and live to tell the tale.

I mostly agree with you on Sears. The one at Woodfield hasn't been that bad every time I've been there. The Kmart in Palatine that they turned into a Sears, that one had a few crappy people there. But I've also never purchased a large appliance, so I know I can't speak for the service people in that area. less

My least favorite Sears in our area is the one in Oak Brook Center. (I LOVE Oak Brook center, although I can afford little of it. I do like the few stores I can shop in.) The people who work there are awful, they are never around, they act like it would kill them to leave their register (hey, they LOCK, you can help a customer find something!) and they are rude. They also stopped carrying half sizes for little girls, ("we needed the room for other stuff") Sears used to be the place to go for half sizes, (my little one is a....strong looking child)
We've bought virtually ALL our appliances, several stoves and refrigerators, plus nearly everything else at the Sears in Oak Brook. (Over 20+ years) We started having bad experiences with the people they sent out to fix things when we bought a furnace from them, and we've not gone back for an appliance since. We've been using Frys or Home Depot or Menards, lately.

No one is surprised or upset that Soap Opera Digest is on the list?

SAAB didn't go out of business a couple of years ago. Chevy just sold them off to another company. They only kept Cheverolet, GMC and Cadiliac I think. They killed off Saturn and Pontiac, and sold off Hummer and SAAB.

I'd better buy a dozen basic American Apparel tees, because they fit so nicely, and no place else seems to make them quite right for me. I'd better make backup copies of my old myspace blogs, too...I've been meaning to for a long while now but that article was a good reminder. I set them all to private long ago, but I never made .doc copies for myself.
Poor Nokia. I like Finland, and those old early-90's cell phones could really take a beating and keep on ticking. less

I've never been to that one. The one at Woodfield (if you can get there) I don't think could afford the bad rap, but again, no major appliance dealings to let you know one way or the other lol. That sucks that they stopped carrying half sizes!

But really, Sony being on the list makes me sad. That's a brand I always trusted. Awwwww.
(PS - Sorry I revived an old thread. I just didn't see it the first time around.)

Ok, maybe this one isn't so awesome, but there's nothing wrong with reviving it!
