Yep, same here. "Are You My Mother?" is the very first book that I remember checking out from the school library. I checked it out over and over. (I never really wanted to return it in the first place.) I just felt so sorry for that little bird. I guess I just wanted to carry him around with me and protect him.

I read a lot and have lots of favorites, but today I think I will go with If You Give a Mouse a Cookie by Laura Numeroff.

The Last Unicorn. Watched the movie when I was very young, read the book in first grade, and never really let go of the story.

Well after all the talking...I didn't know you liked Nancy Drew! (I liked some of them too.)

I read more comics when I was a kid than books lol. But if I had to choose Fahrenheit 451 has always been my fave. They made us read it in school and I never stopped liking it lol

I miss the days when comics weren't $3-4 a piece.

I don't think I could narrow it down to a single favorite. Several of my favorites that came to mind this morning are Where the Red Fern Grows, The Rats of Nimh, and Charlotte's Web.

Oh wow this is a tough call. But, after much though I have narrowed it down to 2: The hungry caterpillar and the Cat in the Hat.

Alice in Wonderland.
Or if you mean super little it'd be When You Give A Moose A Muffin, or Stand Back Said the Elephant, I'm Going to Sneeze.

Great books. ^^

Mike Mulligan and his Steam Shovel was my first-ever favorite, and I still love it today. I've considered getting a tattoo of one illustration...

As I got older... there are just too many to mention. So, Mike Mulligan shall stand alone.

I used to love the Goosebumps series by RL Stine, especially the ones where you could choose your own ending.

I had tons of favorite books when I was little. My mom would even get through novels for older kids with me, by reading 1 (or 2) chapters a day.

I really loved all the Bill Peet books, especially Wump World. They were always so witty and full of intelligent puns, and often had a message to them. When I see a Bill Peet book, it automatically makes me think of my childhood.

The Stinky Cheese-Man and Other Fairly Stupid Tales.

I literally read this book still; It's so hilarious and nostalgic. I bought it for pretty much all of my nieces and nephews.

I was a huge fan of the Redwall books as a kid. My faves being Redwall and Mossflower. I remember when Redwall came out on tape and I listened to them until the tapes broke.
