Kindles (and other e-readers) are a fantastic idea...but not for me. They smell wrong. They feel wrong. They make me feel like I'm working instead of relaxing. I can't seem to disappear into a book that I'm reading on a screen the same way..and I'm tactile-the way the cover feels, the texture of the pages, this changes a book for me. I judge clothing and books by what my hands say about them before I ever try them on or read a line to see if they fit me.
Kindle reader or a real life book?

I never thought I would enjoy an e-reader as much as a real book, but since I got mine for Christmas, I have become a convert! I have an Aluratek Libre Pro and I *love* it. I find that I read a lot faster on it than I do with an actual book.
I'm at the point where I don't know how I'd survive if something happened to it. I still love real books, of course, but I find that this is much more portable. After all, how else could I bring 500 books with me wherever I go?

Agreed! I hate reading from a screen. Books are a sensory experience for me, too.

Real for me.
I like going to used book stores to buy and sell them.

I have used a Kindle but I really prefer books. My eyes are excellent but books are less tiring for me. Also books are a break from screens.

Tough choice. Love the smell and feel of real books, but like that the reader doesn't take up as much space and can hold more than one book. BOth!

I love to read and recently got a Kindle which I am so loving. I don't think it's going to replace books for me but I am really loving being able to read all kinds of free books. I must confess though if I really think about it, so far the three books that I have read that were free were not that great. The one that was .99 was okay but not great. I hope I can soon find some really good books that won't be too expensive.

For me it's both. I am really happy with the Kindle, in fact over the moon is more like it. But I also love real books and know that nothing can ever compare to a real life book. So I still buy some and I also get new releases from my library because there is no way that I can afford to get all those on the Kindle.

Real books. I just go to the library cause it's free. I love the feeling of a book in my hand.
