I hate censorship.
How do you usually feel about censorship?

All porn in japan is censored... >_> how dare you restrict my fapping japan?

In some cases it makes sense but I often find it irritating, I'll go to watch a movie on FearNet (case in point, Repo: The Genetic Opera) and they'll bleep out swears most kids these days know by age 12.

I understand why it exists.

It's pretty much just annoying.

I can't understand Japan's censorship laws at all. The little censor bars in yaoi or hentai manga are ridiculous. It's like you can see every detail of the genitals except for a tiny bar over the clitoris or the frenulum. Why bother? Also, it's apparently okay to show scat in hentai, but genitals must be censored? WTF, Japan?!

I am hugely against censorship!!! I also am baffled by the rating systems used for movies/tv/etc., and am bothered that that rating system is used as a way to censor!!
You hear the argument all the time that it is to protect children..... I HATE that statement!!! I have 3 kids and I have no desire to have them "protected" by placing other peoples values on their entertainment. It is most assuredly not my morality to be ok with my kids watching ugly violence but restricting them from seeing a naked breast. What is that teaching my kids....... be ashamed of nudity and your body, but no worries about beating the crap out of another human being?????

Sometimes. But you get used to what you can see and not see.

The way that movies are rated are rediculous (in the U.S.) You can show a ton of violence and still be rated PG13 whereas sex actually depicted in a movie almost always will bump it to an R rating or even an NC17, particularly if a woman is shown orgasming.
Censorship of speech and sexuality eliminated nothing but rather creates different "black market" type of venues for the speech being censored to be shown. If pornography could be shown in theaters than perhaps more of the pornography being created would be less offensive to a wider audience.

I hate how backwards censorship is here. Brutal, decapitating, disemboweling violence is just fine and dandy but a nipple is equivalent to apocalypse.

For Breaking Bad, Vince Gillian mentioned that they are only allowed to use the F word one time per season and the word sh!t only four times an episode. Also, all movies in the US get an R rating if the word fcuk is used more than once, but it's o.k. to shoot someone in the crotch and still get a PG-13.

Censorship is not just stupid it is dangerous. It shows an unrealistic view of the world and pushes someone's agenda usually to the detriment of a whole group of people. While I understand that life can be messy and heartbreaking, sometimes the prettiest flowers grow in shit! Pretending stuff you don't agree with doesn't exist protects no one. Children need to live in the real world...parents are enjoined with the job of keeping them safe, sane and teaching them about the REAL world. If a movie is too graphic then give me a heads up and I'll watch and see if it's something I think my kids are mature enough to see. Same with TV, advertisements and other stuff people get all butt hurt about their precious little replacements seeing or hearing.
