I'm non-religious. If we want to go at it, we're going at it.
HONESTLY....I am NOT trying to offend anyone with this question. Real curiosity.....

I am also an atheist, but I find the idea of lovemaking during the holidays to be very romantic.
12/25/2011
I don't care what day it is, if I want sex, I'm having it.
12/25/2011
Interesting question, I suppose the only reason I could see to actively avoid sex on such days would be if my partner felt it would be wrong.
I don't particularly feel strongly either way myself though.

I seem to remember that during the Middle Ages, people were expected to refrain from sex during Lent.

I actually never heard of this either. I just have sex or don't depending on how I feel lol. I respect people that hold this belief though, I mean it's a personal choice.

That's an interesting concept. Never heard of people abstaining because of what holiday it is.

One friend says that on Christmas and especially Easter, she could not have sex with her husband, as it would seem too crude and self satisfying on such a "holy" day.
Another friend says that "holy days are THE time for consummating a marriage, since it reflects the ultimate expression of a HOLY bond between two people" ("to join as one").
So, how do YOU feel about this? less

i see no problem fornicating under consent of THE king... jesus the king of nazareth, you know? i mean, god invented sex. why should he/she shun it? in fact, why should a god that created everything shun anything?
then again, i am not religious. maybe my opinion therefore does not count on this matter.

we had the best sex ever on Christmas. i have never felt closer to him.

I'm not religious so it doesn't matter.
However, if we go to visit family or whatever on that day, I'm MORE likely to have sex afterward since I need the stress relief.

We like to have sex on special days like that

If anything, being busy with preparations and having an influx of family members staying at the home might be why we would avoid it on holidays. It's not overall a big deal for us though, as being close and intimate due to feeling good about the holiday is fulfilling in its own way.

Both my sister and I were conceived around the Easter holiday, when my dad was given time off from work. I don't see anything wrong with it. Sometimes, that's the only time a couple gets the free time to have sex!

Same for us, both non-religious, and we try to do it if anything, with it being a special day.

Well, I am Pagan, so I say fuck all you want! Do what feels right and what feels good!

I'm somewhat religious, and I don't think having sex on such holy days take away the sanctity or holiness of the day.

I don't refrain from sex ever

I'll have sex any day of the year. In the middle of a goddamn church, too, if it wasn't illegal.

My husband and I honestly haven't found time for sex on holidays, but only because we usually have so much of a mess to clean up after family leaves. Since we're the latest married couple in the family, everyone gathers in our home. We did have sex on the night of Christmas, but only because we had our part on Christmas Eve.

I'm not really religious.
We have sex when we're in the mood. We don't really feel the need to not have sex on the holidays.
