Well, first we need people to volunteer. Then those volunteers look for "Adopt a family" agencies in your area. You tell us about the agencies, and we make sure it's all legitimate.

We send check or Paypal to the community reps.

Yeah, Target and Walmart.

Last year when my theatre group helped out a family, we bought things in bulk off ebay, they had a little girl in a size 9-10.
So we bought clothing in bulk for her, along with a little suitcase-ish thing.

And everyday things like soap and deodorant, plus some cute hair ribbons of the little girl.

Also, mittens, gloves, scarves... sweaters.. always a good idea to me. less

I would just like to add something here... This group started out talking about Contests and Games, but the possibilities are endless. I think after a few more meetings when everyone (myself included) has a better sense of how things operate, we can do a lot of interesting and meaningful endeavors! An idea that came to mind today after I first read through this thread... 'community workshops'. I will bring that up next time! less
