If you celebrate Christmas, do you have your tree up yet?

We don't have a tree up yet. We used to buy a tree with a root ball. My husband would dig a hole before the grown froze and cover it with wood, then we'd get the live tree with the root ball and keep it in the living room in a large zinc tub which I decorated with stencils and a tree skirt. Then a few days after Christmas, he would acclimate the tree to the cold again (a day or so in the garage) and then one day, well watered in the shade and then into the hole. Now, we're using some of the trees we planted in years past, by cutting them down, as we had so many they were crowding each other out.

Because a living tree which then has to be planted can only be inside for a few days, we got in the habit of decorating fairly late in the season.

I don't like the decorations up for a month anyway. It's Ok for other people, but I like to do it close to Christmas.

We'll probably get our tree next week or the weekend after this.

I am not sure if it will work or not. I guess I can send it back if it does not. I have not purchased it yet, but he wants me too.

Surprisingly, my dad put the tree up early this year. It's only like a 2-3 foot small fake tree, but it works. We can't have a real tree on account of having birds in the house that roam free all over their cages--don't need them getting on the tree and/or eating it and getting sick.
