I always use they/them/theirs, unless requested differently by the individual in question
I am cis-female, though, so this doesn't apply to myself personally, but I have many friends who I refer to by neutral terms

English is a difficult language, it doesn't have any standard genderless pronouns besides "they." I default to "they" until someone specifies the pronoun that they prefer.

I like them/they/theirs.
Whatever works for the person though.

them/they/theirs... never heard of the others listed.

I use they/them/theirs but since that's not grammatically correct, I like to go with Futurama's idea.
"Instead of 'he' or 'she,' we are to use the word 'shklee.' And instead of 'him' or 'her,' we are to use the word 'shklim,' or 'shkler.'" ;

I use ze/hir or they/them. It doesn't matter much to me

If I had to pick a modern type neutral phrasing, I typically choose the "they" set over the rest. It feels less clumsy and is much easier to pronounce.

I use they/them and don't really care about being dramatically correct. I have heard some people say things like "they sits" to indicate that they is bing used in the singular and not the plural but I think that confuses people.
07/11/2012
My partner and I use singular they.
07/11/2012
I personally dislike singular "they," though it's what I use most of the time to avoid confusion. I really like ne/nem/nir, though I also like switching out the initial consonants within that style (le/lem/lir, ve/vem/vir, etc.), both as options for a universal gender-neutral pronoun and when I'm writing fiction about nonbinary characters.

Singular they flows really well for me, personally.
07/23/2012
Since a lot of people I know have issues remembering ze/zir/hir etc. I use they/their for my non binary friend. It usually keeps questions at bay when I don't want to get into discussions with people, too.

I prefer they/them/their for myself as well as a general pronoun use for EVERYONE when not otherwise specified. It's the most familiar to the average person as well as humanizing. I think that English is a living language and while it's not technically gramamtically correct now, if it becomes common enough parlance, the language will evolve in such a way that it's widely accepted.
I have a neutrois agendered type friend who is a rarity in preferring "it" though. I respect all pronoun choices and oblige once I've been corrected, but I would never ever ever call somebody that unless they asked me to.

Imo, theythem is the least clunky and has the most history to back it up. I really don't see any of the exotic pronouns making it into common usage whereas most people use they as a neutral pronoun without even realizing it. Hence why it's my favorite.

I think they/them/theirs is easiest to remember for people who aren't educated about gender queer people. It's something we all use regularly without realizing it. I use she/her/hers but I have many friends who have used or do use they/them/theirs and it is respected and used properly more often than ze/hir/hirs, the other one I've heard often.

I don't use them, but personally i think anything other than "they" is pointless. Why would you make up words for something that already has a word for it.

i mean, i kind of get it because grammatical prescriptivists get weird about singular they, but where they lose me is when they start making up multiple different ones. i can think of about half a dozen different sets of gender neutral pronouns that have popped up in the past few years, and some people seem to make a point of picking really obscure ones for themselves or just making them up even though they're fully aware that alternatives already exist, and it just seems really pointless. i... question their motivations, let's say.

I love they/them/their pronouns and they're my pronouns.
I personally have a hard time using ey/em/eir pronouns, even though I have friends who use them. I feel bad that I automatically say they/them/their instead (although that's their like 2nd or 3rd choice of pronouns, so they're acceptable but not optimally preferred)
I think ze/hir pronouns are ugly and would not use them on myself personally, and think people have a hard time enough as it is, using they/them/their for me, so I feel like they would NEVER use even less commonly used ones, plus I'm just most comfortable with they/them/their and feel like they ARE my pronouns

seems like a like of semantic gymnastics to go through.

People get offended when I use "it" (usually referring to a baby); I wish that neutral term weren't so offensive.
I use they/them, but I don't like the awkwardness of using a plural term as singular. I think I would like the other terms much better, if I just heard them more often! (A good reason for more of us to start using them.) As it is, I am so unfamiliar with them, that I can't remember them and they tend to confuse me.

I generally use them/they/their when it comes to gender neutral pronouns, though I'm happy to oblige if someone has a preferred set of pronouns they like. The variant pronouns are a little challenging in some contexts so I prefer using something that's a little more widely accessible.
