I've completed a masters degree, in business. As well, I've studied abroad, in Germany at a German University, I was not the only foreign student there by the way. Other than the various continuing education classes that I've taken over the years, the more formal education I've received, the less I'm impressed with it.

During a period of unemployment, I applied to UPS to load trucks. On the application of course was education, I was honest. At the interview I was told that because of my MBA I would not be hired. I was told that this was because I would in all likelihood continue to look for a "real job" and when one came up, I'd quit. Whatever the cost of hiring and "training?" was too great to do it more often than the absolute minimum. I again have that "real job" but I'm still relatively petulant concerning UPS and so avoid using them whenever possible.

I've been tempted to lie about my education (by saying I have less) to be able to get an entry level job just to bring some money in. I can't do shift work in nursing anymore (lotta good all that education did me) due my health, my home business is bust, but when employers see my credentials, they assume I'll "quit as soon as the economy gets better" so they go with a 22 year old girl with a HS diploma, instead. But, I can't do it. I won't lie on a job application. They'll have to take me as I am. Having been self employed is poison to this job market.
My middle child is starting Grad School, I really pray she'll be able to get a decent job. Of course, she chose a very specialized field. *sigh* I have no idea if she'll ever be able to quit working at Spencers. I hope so. less

I graduated high school and got married to my loving husband. I'm happy with my life and don't believe I would've been happier with more schooling. It's just not for some people and that's okay.

I have a BA in English from a 4-year school, and I'm going on to grad school this fall.

Technically my highest level is a GED, but since the state of Florida equates that to a standard high school diploma that's what I went with.
I didn't get it out of laziness/not being able to pass regularly, but because my school decided to wait until I only had a few weeks of classes left before telling me I was a credit short. At that point I didn't want to wait through night school.

I have my bachelor's degree, it's hanging right up on my wall.
I'm getting married this summer and possibly moving, so after all that gets done and we get settled in I'm going to start looking at grad schools.

When I return to North America, I used to look for a three month summer position. I specifically applied for positions that were for summer employment only. I was always called in for an interview because they thought my resume/CV was unique. When asked why did I want the job, I was honest. I was home for the summer and would like to be productive, but when the summer was over, I planned to return home to China.
Companies basically all said that I was overqualified for the job (how can you be over qualified for filing?) and were afraid that I'd go somewhere that paid more.

It was easiest to get into my field and be able to transfer out when I want to with a degree.
