I love polls, but what I love more is the effective feeling of community throughout the forums, no matter how one chooses to post.

All of them. They all serve a different purpose

I like the polls and the discussions. I think that it is very interesting to read what other people think about the different topics. For the most part it has made me realize that I am not so strange.

i would say discussions because it gives you more of an in depth look and insight to the product and how a person feels about that certain product as well, and sometimes it can be a determining factor on whether or not you decided to purchase the product to.

Polls, especially anonymous polls, are a great way to find out how people really feel, but might be reluctant to say. I think for really complicated or "deep" topics, discussions usually work best. I like comparative discussions best for topics with multiple dimensions (or, obviously, for comparing products).
For best results, use the right "tool" for the job.

I have to agree with you. I enjoy some polls, but it seems as if they are taking over the forum pages. I would like to see more discussions as well.
