The first time I did it I thought it was horrible and totally not worth it.
I recently went back and loved it. I would NEVER do the diy waxing down there. Just, no. It's way faster and way less painful to have someone who really knows what they're doing and can see everything clearly do it.
Additionally, the lady I go to uses a product that isn't actually wax. It's some natural wax-free soy based product that also doesn't stick to your skin in the same way wax does so it's less painful as well.
The thing I noticed the most was that the first time you wax, it'd ridiculously painful because your hair has never been pulled out so the roots or whatever are huge. After that, the little bulb thing at the root is a lot smaller which makes it a lot less painful to pull out. So it's not just "getting used to the pain," it really does hurt less the more you do it.
