So i had a really crazy uncle who always told all the boys (once they were old enough) that they all had to earn their red wings one day and that it wasnt that bad. Now for those of you that dont know, apparently what he considered red wings was eating a girl out when she was on her period. I know for some this is probably a major no no, but i was wondering if there is anyone out there that is not grossed out by it. Would you ever let a someone eat you out or would you eat a girl out on her period?

I really like this response & FieryRed's responses! There has been so much shaming associated with menstruation that I think it's sad. It's interesting to me how much more accepted anal sex and even squirting is now, but anything surrounding menstruation is still "gross"!

To answer your question, I personally have received oral from my partner while on my cycle, but wearing a tampon is something I did during so that, well, you know why! Lol. There have been times where it was light, so I didn't and there wasn't ever a mess, but for most of our 7 years together, I've been relieved of the horrid bleeding due to a medication I've taken for most of the 7 years for endometriosis. But there were times!
Now, I rarely even have bleeding, just all the other menstrual symptoms so I never have to worry about this.
I wouldn't be upset if my partner did not do that while I was actually on my period. In fact, I made sure he knew that I didn't have to have it & he didn't ever have to do it, but he insists that my blood does not gross him out. Ever. He is not squeamish about my natural bodily functions. And neither am I, so it doesn't bother me.
Him insisting that he wasn't grossed out by things like a period or being close to my crotch during it is the only thing that finally made me comfortable enough to even allow it to happen. I have vehemently refused to let my past partner's do this. It's just not something I was ever comfortable with besides with my partner now.
The thing was, back then before I had some relief from my periods, I usually felt like death when the time came, so it wasn't often that oral or sex or hell, even leaving the house was much of something I was able to do during the time of my periods. But there were times. There were times. Lol.
Of course making sure things are clean before getting oral during your period is a good thing. I don't think I would want blood on my face from someone else, even if I loved them, I'd prefer not to get it on my face, so I wouldn't ever have made my partner deal with something like that. There are ways. Clean beforehand (since leaking can happen during that time) and use a tampon during. That is a good way to keep it less messy. Or not messy at all.
Grossed out by it? No. It's just blood. Getting it in your mouth? I can understand not wanting that, as I said. But I really, really don't see any reason for anyone (especially the girl!) to be grossed out by a period. Blood from there isn't "dirty" as most people tend to think. I also don't see a reason for the partner to be grossed out by their partner's menstrual cycle or a little blood from it. I mean, if you're okay to put your penis there, you shouldn't be grossed out by it. less

I haven't had it happen, but if that's what my partner or I wanted at the time, then I'm fine with it. Like several other people responded, I also have a horrible period and hurt too much to usually want to be touched. That's the only reason I would refuse. But, I am a big believer that no one should be persuaded to do something they really don't want to sexually. We all have preferences, so if my partner wasn't willing, even if i wanted it, I would not push.

I think the stigma that still exist about menstruation is silly and annoying. No, it's not a turn on but it's not a turn off either. I've received head while on my period and given girls head while they were on their periods. For individuals interested in giving: why do you think it is so gross? Do you legitimately have an issue with blood or has the idea of menstruation as something disgusting been driven into you by societal norms? For individuals interested in receiving: Just relax. If you want to have sex and being on your period does not cause you pain then what's the issue?
Way back when, women were seen as dirty during the time of their menstruation and often not allowed to participate in some activities (red tent, anyone?). We've come so far and deconstructed so many silly stigmas, why can't we just get over menstruation and stop being weird about it? Seriously people, come on!!

That is very strange for an uncle to share that for sure.... but as a female, I wouldn't object, and it's alright.

I dont think its so much a menstruation issue as it is the blood issue. My husband doesnt care if we have sex when i am on my period but the thought of him having my blood in his mouth or on his face grosses me out even with a tampon it i feel its too gross. But i agree menstruation needs to not be such a disgusting idea, it natural and no one should be embarrased by it.
