OMG speaking of that funny story: One morning my oldest girl climbs out of her big girl bed and stalkes into the livingroom where her father and I are stumbling around. She puts her hands on her three year old hips and says, "How come you tell sissy and me not to jump on the bed but YOU get too?" I blinked and said, "Our bed is a special bed that only adults can jump on safely. Little girls get hurt when they jump on beds and fall off!" She thought for a minute and shrugged. Turned toward the kitchen and gave me her breakfast order...Sigel bowed before my UBER Motherliness.

Ah, you've resorted to pseudo lying too.
One of our kids, at about the same age, asked me why I was "crying" that morning. I am usually really good with answers, but I was floored, for some reason. I told her, "Mommy was really sad, and Daddy was making her feel better." Well, that's no more of a "lie" than the "special bed."
It was TRUE!
