Dates for reviews on profiles.
Wish list for Neuron Geek's fantastic team! (Shopping and reviewers!)
12/31/2009
Page numbers at the top of the page on the forum, on contributor lists, on pretty much anywhere there are page numbers at the bottom of the page and not at the top.
I also second Adriana's "Dates for reviews on profiles." I liked how the reviews were listed on the old profile pages without the followups mixed in and with the dates of the original reviews displayed.

A distinction for one-size lingerie. One-size generally runs pretty small it shows up if you click S/M/L/XL when you're browsing. It just kind of helps to weed out the stuff I am not interested in.

The ability to write one linked review for items that are almost identical - different size for example. Or just strongly linked reviews when the products cover a lot of similarity.

Reminders to think about reviews for products purchased that weren't necessarily purchased just for a review!
I couldn't believe I never wrote a review for one book that I bought.

I second the edit/delete post option.
I also wish there were buttons on each post to let you click agree, disagree, interesting, educational, etc like I've seen on other forums. This would save the 'I agree' replies, like my first sentence.
Most of all, I wish the product search section would show which items are really available to request for a review. I would like to see a column that appears for advanced reviewers indicating this. The process now only seems to work well for the manufacturer-sponsored products.

I'm not sure if I'm going to explain this correctly but, I think it would be great to have the ability to do a search within a category.

Ok, peeps – we had a meeting about many of these suggestions yesterday, and I have news! (Yes, Neuron Geek was there!)
To make it easier to understand, I’ll just go area by area, with the ‘status’ news.
Review Program:
• Save draft reviews - The Standard template for reviews will soon be able to save drafts – just like we already have with the Extended templates.
• Product Search - changes continue to happen; however, the request to only show the products that are available for request is not entirely possible, because there are many products that have multiple limitations / statuses. It is not always obvious to the public how each product is involved in many processes at once, on many levels – yet this is necessary on our end. That being said, we’ll keep thinking about ways to make Product Search better.
Review details – public view:
• Voting results – We will start showing the voting results on your own reviews, as long as you are logged in.
• Review publication dates - On the public profile, these dates will be added to be viewable on mouse over.
EF Messaging system:
We’re going to make it possible for users to delete the messages in their outbox -
as well as multiple/batch deleting of messages.
Chat room:
Not happening. We have considered this a few times, but with the forums and the messaging system, it seems a bit excessive and would be to the detriment of the forums. However, the forums can easily be used to have back and forth conversations with a group of people, and it will be less exclusive to those who want to see the conversation and learn from it. Private conversations happen in the messaging system. Both needs are met.
Forum:
• Editing - We will make it possible to edit your last post, as long as no one has posted after you. The reason being that if someone has already responded to it, then by you changing your post, you change the conversation that has already begun. If someone has posted below you, you can always reply in order to clarify or correct something you posted – which is what is often already happening.
• Spell check - We cannot turn spell-check on for the forums – it owould make you miserable. None of the toy manufacturers’ names, as well as most anatomy, slang and colloquial terms are not recognized by spell check. We suggest simply turning on the spell check in your browser.
• Signed by notice – We will add a notice to the forum posts “Your post will be signed by ##ScreenName##” so you can see before you submit. This is already the case with Review Comments
• Images on the forum – Guess what! We’re going to make it possible to easily add images to your forum posts! Even from your own folders – not just online images. We are creating a little uploader as part of the post box.
• Formatting – we’re going to add more instruction for how to format on the forums. We already have ‘How to add links’, but we will also soon list things like how to use italics, bold, and underline.
Public Profile:
Stats - As far as listing the ‘total discussion counter’ and ‘total post counter’ on the public profile, we’ve decided not to do that. It really does not tell you about that person – about how useful or meaningful those posts are – those are just stats, and not really needed.
Other:
We will add a pop-up layer to each contributor avatar. When you mouse over an avatar, you will see a snapshot of the ‘About Me’ page for that person – unless they do not have a published profile yet, in which case you’d see a message that says their profile is not yet published.
So, there ya have it – lots going on! You will start to see these changes happening in staggered fashion over the next 3 – 4 weeks.
Excited?
Yeah, me too!
Thanks for all of the suggestions, everyone!

Two Scorpios
Awesome list of updates! As a geek, I know that none of these changes are trivial.
But to throw out another "wish" - I was curious about any planned "mobile" enhancements? I'm lost without my iPhone, and my wife doesn't go far without her iPod touch. I keep a RSS feed of site wide updates in the forum which is good...but you only get the first 40 or so words in the RSS snippet and I'm regularly browsing on the small screen trying to read the entire post.
Has there been any consideration for a iPhone app? I know its not something Neuron Geek and team can just "whip out", but it would be awesome to follow and participate in the forums without having to spin up the laptop - especially in bed!!!
A more realistic change could be an expansion of the website's Mobile site to include the forums, reviews, and one of my favorites, the sexual fantasies section. The foundation is there. It could also be read-only on the mobile side. I'd continue to contribute using my desktop or laptop, but when you just want to follow along or get into the right frame of mind - the ease of the iPhone or iPod Touch in bed can't be beat.
Just some thoughts and ideas....

Just wishing for the impossible.
Hotlinks for the posting on the wall, so I can instantly transport myself! I have no technical idea how that could happen automatically, so I'm going to assume it won't happen!

I think this is already in effect. When I look at my wall and there's a "discussion" area, I can click on the thread title and I'm taken to the beginning of the thread. Is that what you're asking for?

Holy dildos, you guys rock! Thanks for explaining everything to us, too, Victoria! And, should we rig up an IV coffee drip for poor Neuron Geek and the team?! This is so much work for them, thanks for letting us help with the idea process. You guys are seriously made of win.

I actually have one more suggestion - include multiple circumferences for toys without a uniform width. EF already excels in the amount of information given, but this detail would be quite useful. I'm thinking of the Tantus Revolution here. The head is bigger than the shaft.

I'd like to see the fantasies section expanded. There are some improvements that could be done there that haven't really been.
