Great poll, I hope everyone who like lingerie will vote!!!
05/24/2010
This is great! I voted for two because it depends on what the item is.

I can never find any lingerie that fits me properly! Pretty much the only thing that fits me is lingerie from Japanese manufacturers for tiny Japanese women. I'm not Asian, but having the same tiny body makes things really difficult. I hope more XS lingerie will be coming to EF!

Small and Medium for me. But more smalls would be great!
05/24/2010
Kinda hard to say. As a guy I always get confused by these rather arbitrary "small" and "medium". I wish more was available in numerical sizes cause I know my wife's measurements :p
That said, I have to go with 'medium', not that there's a shortage of those.

I said sm and med but for me lingerie is always a challenge...I a B cup, weigh 119lbs and I am 5' 6" Right now I choose mfgrs that I have been successful with before or more exactly, brands that I have figured out the sizes.
05/24/2010
I am anywhere from an XL - 2X depending on the brand.

OOO that matters too! Some I'm a medium or large and on rare occasion I'm an XL. Some brands run super small.

I had to vote "other," as I am small on the bottom, but an unusual size on the top. If a bustier or corset has bra-type sizing (band and cup), it can be easier to figure out if something will actually fit.
05/24/2010
It really depends on the brand. In most of what EF carries, I'm a Medium. But in a few I'd have to be in a large. So I suppose I really want more Mediums, and some larges too. But ooh, just you wait! I'll be in a small soon enough, and then your whole system will have been messed up. I'll be complaining in the corner that we don't have enough smalls! ^_~*
05/24/2010
Yanno, I voted small because in general that's what I wear, but none of the brand sizing seems to fit my bust. Most smalls say 32"-34" chest, which is right on, but A-B cup. And I'm closer to a 32C.... ah well, I'll stick with small and stop complaining lol
05/24/2010
I'm generally between a small and an extra small. But from here I've ordered just about everything in a small and been pretty happy with it.
05/24/2010
I really hope that more plus sizes are added.

Small and/or Medium for me.. mainly small, but it depends.
05/25/2010
Ok, I voted Other, simply because I have a difficult time pinpointing an exact size. I have everything from S to XL in my closet and the same is true for my intimates... I'm almost 5'9, and a size 10 through the waist, but my thighs are a little bit curvier than most size 10 women, as I'm athletic and have more muscle in my legs, both thighs and calves. I'm also naturally a size 40D. A good amount of the time, I wind up either going up a size in order to customize my clothes to fit over the twins yet not look like a tent over my stomach, or can't wear size 10 jeans or pants unless they have some level of stretch to them so they will fit over my thighs yet still have a good fit through the waist rather than pucker.
With lingerie, I'm usually a medium as lingerie usually has more give to it then regular clothes. I don't do flannel or PJs, I'm a satin, silk and lace nightgown type of girl ALL the way... but if I want something really sexy and skintight, I can never find anything that fits me right as I'm a contradiction in my measurements. I'm a ten through the waist, probably closer to a 12 through the thighs, then a 40D in the chest.
I think the most important thing for me is lingerie based on not only S, M, L, or XL, but cup size as well as those are usually easier for me to determine whether or not they will fit properly.

Same here! I can usually get away with Smalls for some items, but for things like bustiers and other more form-fitting items, need XS.

Also would appreciate more satins, cottons, nylons, etc. instead of all the Spandex stuff (which can make me itch).

I am usually a M/L to Large depending on the brand.
05/26/2010
I voted! As a plus-size woman, it's refreshing to see a company that is genuinely interested in the sizes its customers wear. Here's to more plus-size lingerie!
05/27/2010
I voted med and large. As many have said it depends on brand but also for me product. I’m small up top and big on the bottom and I hate how some items fit my hips but sag on my chest. It would help if manufacturers gave measurements for the general sizes.
05/28/2010
Anywhere from a M-XL! M for panties, L for a top, sometimes L/XL for tops and one-pieces. Wouldn't we be better off with the metric system? I wonder if that would make sizing more accurate.
BTW, thanks for posting this poll! I've seen some pieces on here that only go up to a L, but I'll visit the manufacturer site and see that it is available in XL, but EF doesn't carry it .

Usually the lingerie offered on websites claim to fit up to a size L or XL, but really only fit like a size 2 girl. When real women try on these outfits, they usually deteriorate. The snaps fall off, the clothes never fit, the underwire pops out or the stitchings bust open. A lot of it is cheaply made and a waste of money!
I can't order lingerie online because I'm a size 12/14 on the bottom and a 36DD on top. I have Agent Provacateur pieces that were made for me. Yes, theyre expensive but worth every penny because they've lasted for a long time.
I've looked at so many cute things here on EF and it makes me sad because even if I order a 2X or something, I know it won't make it past my hips.
So...forgive the rant, but we need more plus sizes in lingerie, and sizing charts specifically geared for each company that sells lingerie online, because they vary so wildly.

There are some really nice pieces on EF that come in plus sizes, but I agree I'd love to see more

Not sure... but I have a 35 in waist and 42 in hips. Something like that. I know none of Hot Topic's stuff will fit me but that's all juniors...
Top I'm a 36 B, so that I dunno in regards to a set...

I am really sorry if my post offended anyone. I wasn't trying to be rude or sound bitchy...but I do apologize if it came out that way. I do actually have a few piece of lingerie on my wishlist and intend on trying them out and have no ill will toward any lingerie designers/manufacturer s here on EF.
Please forgive me.

I think it was the slam against smaller women that got you: "only fit like a size 2 girl. When *real* women try on these outfits..." I'm small and went WTF?! when I first read it too. Water under the bridge though.

Anyway, you're totally right about most of the manufacturers having some crazy sizing issues. On the other end of the scale, I've found that they tend to make outfits to fit a 100-pound size 2 woman, but they have like 34D tops (EVEN WHEN the size charts say 32-34 A/B). That's not a size combo that happens often in nature, so I sometimes wonder if they're assuming that all smaller women have boob jobs. Either that or they don't do much market research regarding the realistic proportions of a woman, because I see on here where several people are saying they need a different size top from bottom.
What would be awesome would be to find manufacturers who offer their outfits as mix & match separates. Obviously it wouldn't work for 1-piece items, but for sets it would sure be useful!

For me personally, it all depends on what the item is, how it is made and what it is made out of. I usually wear a size 10 (United States sizes) in jeans, dresses, ect...but if they are cut slim or tight it might occasionally take a size 12. Usually a medium works for me in most things. Truly it depends on the manufacturer since they all seem to size differently.I have lingerie right now that is size 8, 10, 12, small, medium, large and even one corset that says Extra Large but is only 36 inches around the waist. That is why I tend to buy clothing in person versus online unless the online description tells the exact inches. Which is why I like reviews that measure and tell versus just saying it was a size whatever.
