I don't have a specific contributor; I just dislike uninformed, ignorant posts. Or ones that are clearly meant to inflame.
Has there been another contributor response that absolutely had you fuming?

This is the internet. There is bound to be someone that will say something that will raise your hackles.
I try not to take anything personally.

Absolutely. I always try to respond (sometimes after a little breathing room) because if something violates my beliefs to that extent, I feel morally obligated to at least speak my piece so that another opinion can be out there in the world providing a different sort of information (come what may). The key is to stay level-headed. If none of your statements are outright accusatory, if your ideas come with good reasoning, and if you've written your response well (grammar checks and all), it's much, much harder to argue with your response. And most importantly, you should not just be adding fuel to the fire. Be an opponent of misinformation, if you should so choose, but for the love of Eden, don't be a raging troll and misrepresent your beliefs at the same time.

"Well look at her Judge! Anyone can see she is a lil' slut that is just asking to get raped."
Yeah, karma is a mother fucker. Just remember that.

I have only encountered one other case (besides the one you mentioned. I'm appalled too) where I was mad at a contributor. I wanted to see if I could report him but I couldn't figure out how. So I'm glad I saw your post here because it had been bothering me so I looked into how to do it and just sent an email to EF about it. He was harassing the author of the article and another commenter and being very rude.
Basically, people are obviously free to disagree but I think EF should be a positive place for everyone so there is no call for extreme rudeness.

I have not seen anything that made me mad before, that I can remember.

Not yet.

I read the article Teen Rape Goes Viral; Town Protects Football Team, and I was increasingly outraged and disgusted the more I read. When I reached the end of the article, I decided to read the responses from other contributors, and was completely shocked by one I saw.
I won't name any names, but one contributor essentially stated that the victim (a teenage girl who was abused and assaulted while under the influence of alcohol) was just a stupid girl who got herself into that situation in the first place, and didn't deserve any "babying".
Is this not a community that promotes positivity, health and safety? How can someone be a member of such a community and yet be so hateful, lacking understanding for the horror that a young girl went through when she drank too much at a party? Maybe I'm mistaken, but that seems to be about the same as saying "Look at what she was wearing! She was ASKING for it!"
So I ask you, have you ever seen a comment/response from a contributor that left you completely disgusted and outraged?
Did you do anything about it? less

But if I did (and this is one of those touchy subjects for me) I would definitely say something, and then if the inflammatory comments persist after I've made an effort to educate something will definitely be said to a moderator.
I grew up in Texas, so I have seen plenty of instances down here where football=a free pass to do what you want as long as your career is promising enough. This made me sick, and no amount of victim blaming will ever make me ok with what was done and how it was handled. Like someone said, you'd be speaking an entirely different tune if it was your child.

There are so many idiots with diverse opinions I am finding mysel reading less and less on the web.... I do my best to ignore the senseless ramblings of the masses.....

One thing I often tell my husband is "you can't fix stupid". Attacking someone or going back and forth with them when neither of you is going to change your opinion is pointless. Spend your time on the things you can change.

I have never been offended by someone. Although there is lots I disagree with I think each person is entitled to their own opinion.

Yes, we should teach boys to behave appropriately and everyone should be safe everywhere. However, we cannot ignore the fact that we live in the real world. There are a lot of people who do bad things. We need to teach girls (and boys) how not to be victims. Just like you teach them not to leave the keys in the car when they go into the store because someone will steal the car. Personal responsibility is something we are failing to teach our children.

About the article: Why are we focusing on the victim? Why do we teach women and girls "don't get raped; don't put yourself in that position" instead of teaching men and boys "don't rape." A woman shouldn't have to worry about where she is or what kind of state she is in. She should feel safe anywhere. But because we teach "don't get raped" instead of "don't rape," this girl is being blamed for putting herself in this situation. Aghhh.
Anyways.
There have definitely been a few contributors I've bumped heads with. I'll admit to a few forum arguments. It's usually over something I feel very passionate about. I don't argue unless it's something I'm educated about and feel strongly about. less
