Introducing the NEW Eden Personal Stores Program!

Contributor: Rockin' Rockin'
Hey everybody!
I've got some awesome news about the EdenFantasys Affiliate Program. Are you ready?

We're launching a brand new program branch called the Eden Personal Stores program!

The Eden Personal Stores (EPS) program offers affiliates their own personal store, either as a stand-alone shop or associated with an existing site. An Eden Personal Store exists on its own URL, separate from EdenFantasys--allowing an affiliate to control the appearance and product selection of the store.

Affiliates hand-pick their stores' inventory from the extensive EdenFantasys collection and customize their store design to match their blog or design something totally different. We’re here to help you get set up with your store. After your store is up and running, we take care of all of your visitors’ orders and customer service needs, while you promote your store and earn commissions from the sales.

Here is an example of a stand-alone EPS: Save Big Sex Toys
Here is an example of an EPS on a sub-domain, associated with a blog: Tales from the Porn Store, Sex Toy Shop

Go explore the example stores and get a feel for how the stores work. You can customize your store to look like your current blog/website or design a completely new store—the choice is yours. We encourage affiliates to put their personal touch on these stores. Have fun with them!

Maybe you want to have a store with just luxury toys, or perhaps you'd like a really feminine store with all kinds of products to pleasure women. Want to show off your kink? Design your store with an edgy flair, and stock it with your favorite fetish items.

Adding products to your store is simple and quick with our Synchronization feature. We make the stores work efficiently for you so that you can spend more time designing and promoting, and less time on the technical details. EdenFantasys provides the product pictures and specs, but you are free to add your own images and descriptions. You can even embed video (from EdenTube or elsewhere) on a product page! With the Eden Personal Store software, you can really introduce a product the way you want. Show your visitors exactly why your store's products are awesome! And with commissions starting at 20%, you can make a LOT of money!

To help you get started with your EPS, I'd like to introduce the Eden Personal Stores Blog. I write and manage this blog, so feel free to make suggestions or ask me any questions you have about it. I want to keep improving it so affiliates have a comprehensive resource for Eden Personal Stores.

I am also planning to host an EPS Basics Workshop on February 1st, 2011, at 8pm EST, right here on the Forum! We will be covering a few common store activities to help people get familiar with the EPS software. Everyone is welcome! You do not need to have a store set up to attend. More Workshop details and reminders will be coming soon!

Want to get an Eden Personal Store for yourself? Make sure these statements apply to you:
• You are an EdenFantasys Affiliate.
• You own a domain for your blog/website
• You own your hosting for your blog/website (Please make sure you have a server that runs PHP and MySQL)

If you meet those requirements and would like a store, send an email requesting a store to partners@edenfantasys.com and please include:
• Your full name
• Your EdenFantasys Affiliate partner code (example: CPG)
• Your EdenFantasys username (the name with which you log into your affiliate account)
• The URL for your blog/website if you plan to set up your store on a subdomain of your current blog/website (you do not need to have the subdomain ready yet)

If you do not own your own domain and/or hosting, we will try to work with you on a case-by-case basis. We may offer a domain and hosting based on a number of factors including: your store ideas, your marketing plans, and your individual affiliate situation. Not all special requests can or will be granted (but it never hurts to ask!).

If you have questions about the Eden Personal Stores program, you can post them here on this thread, and I will answer them, or you can email partners@edenfantasys.com. I'm really looking forward to helping you get started with Eden Personal Stores!

Hey, Illusional! Don't worry about asking questions, that's the whole point of this thread!

If you have a blog on Blogger, your blog is on a subdomain. The format of web addresses is http:/ /subdomain. domain. com, so if you have...

http:/ / MyBlogSite. blogger. com or http:/ /MyBlogSite. wordpress. com, you own a subdomain, not a domain.

A domain would look like: http:/ /MyBlogSite .com
(had to add spaces so it wouldn't auto-format as actual links)

How does this differ from the Personal Stores that many of us already have? Will EF still be doing those as well?

The new Eden Personal Stores are hosted on their own domains/subdomains, separate from EdenFantasys.

The onsite Personal Stores are going to be called Community Stores, as they are hosted on EdenFantasys and are part of the community here. For now, there should still be support for the Community Stores. I will make a post later with more info concerning Community Stores.

Oh okay, so they're different.
I thought these were like the EF personal stores.
I see, I see.

So Kris, I need my own domain, not just a sub.
Gotcha.

I'm so excited about this. Over the weekend I was even cataloging what I want to have in my store and everything. I've even started pimping it up with friends and telling them all about it. Now if I wasn't so damn tech-illiterate I might be further along!

You have to pay for hosting, but it's relatively cheap, just a few dollars per year. I have a webmaster. I have to see if they have time to help with people who are interested in having their own domain.

Basically, for myself, I'm waiting for information on one of my proposals as to whether or not it will be a program before I go ahead with this. But I'll check with my webmaster to see if he's interested in doing this for those who are ready to make the jump!

You can get your own domain from a site like GoDaddy.com or NetworkSolutions.com. Owning a domain usually costs between $10 and $20 per year.

There are a lot of hosting providers out there, too. I can look into some that are more adult-friendly and post some possible recommendations to this thread later.

I have a question - if we're working on a blog and it's not quite up yet, will this opportunity still be available to startup 3 or 6 months from now? Or does it need to be initiated ASAP?

Also, if we were to start a store as a stand-alone, would there be an ability to switch it to a blog format or vice versa?

I've been looking for something like this for a while now! I had one with another company a couple of years back and they decided to stop the service without much notice, I think it was about a month and boy did that cause me a bunch of headaches.

I'm willing to give this a go though as I know that this type of store works with my site. Having the ability to add my own content, etc is something that really appeals to me as well.

I'll sign up in a few.

We will be offering the opportunity to start EPS for a long time, don't worry if you aren't starting one right now/soon.

I am not sure about the second question. I think it would be possible, but I wouldn't recommend switching. I will look into this question and get post an update on this thread.

I do have a question though. Why do you need to have a blog with its own domain if you chose to do an EPS that is not associated with a blog? I suppose I'm not understanding something. But if the store stands alone and has its own URL, why would we need to have a blog that wasn't a subdomain?

Excellent question, I should have clarified.

"If the store stands alone and has its own URL, why would we need to have a blog that wasn't a subdomain?" You don't need to have a blog on its own domain in this case.

If you plan to have a store that's on its own domain, then you just need to own and host the store domain.

I know there is a lot of interest from people who want a store that *is* associated with a blog, so I wanted to make sure they knew that they could have a store on a subdomain (http:/ / store. mysexblog. com). In this case, they would need to own their own domain to start off.

I hope that makes sense. Keep the questions coming, y'all!

Just to clarify further:

So, you're saying that if we choose to have a stand-alone EPS we need to purchase the URL for the store (say through GoDaddy or some other web hosting site) once we are approved for a store? Like for example, say I wanted to call mine http: // bbwtoylover(dot)com, then I would get the name approved, and go purchase that domain "bbwtoylover(dot)com" from a hosting site (i.e. GoDaddy)....

Which leads me to: Then what happens??? Or more like HOW does it happen?

I was actually anticipating most people setting up the store on a subdomain (example: http:/ / store. myblogsite. com) but you are welcome to set up your own domain and have a store on it.

For people who are already affiliates and want a store on their own domain (http:/ / MyToyStore. com), I just need to know that you want to set up a store. You can already have your domain, or be planning to purchase one. Either way, the domain will be yours (i.e. EF isn't handling the domain/hosting issue). Let me know that you're interested by sending me an email (partners@edenfantasys.com ) and I'll send more details.

Basically, what happens after y'all email me is that I send you an agreement about the stores and give you directions on setting up your store.

It sounds like something I'd like to do.

However, I don't have a blog or a domain. I am hopelessly behind on this stuff.

If I could get some tips on doing it, I'd LOVE to do this. Really.

I have some good ideas for a blog and store.

AWESOME - I'd be totally in but I have to get my own domain (which I have seriously been thinking of doing recently anyway) and then I can set up a new blog the way I want it.

Then I'd LOVE to have my own store!

Can you have both a community store and personal store? I am in the process of setting up a domain, but I already have a community store (unpublished) Will I need to shut down the community store to have the personal store?

Your Community Store and potential Personal Store will not interfere with each other No worries! They are separate endeavors.
