Couldn't make it in time.
But anyway, now I got a full thread with answers and ideas to read. Thanks everyone.

Kris, this was an amazing workshop. Made the whole subject a little less terrifying... now I really need to work on setting up my blog!

Didn't make it back in time but read it all and think I am caught up. Now if only I had the time to finish adding products and tweaking logos...
Question about the stores, but not setup related- has anyone given any thought to how they're going to advertise their store and get their name and links out there??

For people with stand-alone stores, I recommend using social media like Twitter and Facebook. You can follow/friend people who seem interested in adult products and also promote your store with blurbs about your products.

For people with stores "attached" to their existing websites/blogs, I recommend using the existing site to help promote the store. You could have a launch post on your blog, or make a banner for your store and link to it in your blog's sidebar.
I think someone mentioned in the EPS Introduction thread that they planned to buy Google Ads to promote their store, too. That could work for specific searches people make on Google, where you could target a subset of people, like those looking for fetish items or pegging supplies.
I'd love to see what suggestions (or testimonials!) the rest of the community have on this issue.

The hosting gives me $100 (I think) in Google advertising so I was going to use that and see how things go.

I think I'll also make up a link signature that will be sent with each email and will possibly do what Kris suggested about Facebook.
I'll also put up my store URL in my yahoo status and account. And on MSN.
Hopefully word of mouth from friends will help too.
But even so, I'm not expecting much in the way of commission. I don't know enough people.

Networking! I refuse to give google a dime just because I'm a cheap bitch and they have enough money without adding mine to make the pile bigger.
I've run competitions with other sites in the past to generate traffic, a blog hop is a good idea. Like for example this month is national condom awareness month by promoting and cross promoting condoms between blogs and maybe offering to let people win a pack of condoms if they leave comments on all the blogs in the hop and then using random.org to choose a winner. This is just an example by the way...
It's hard work but for me it's always paid off and I always add my url into my signature wherever I go or if I send out related mail.

Any suggestions for integrating the Share/Like buttons on the product pages? We found a few modules for that but they don't seem to work on this version of Prestashop.

Here is one of my product pages, so you can see how it looks on the page: link
This requires editing the store files on your host, but the instructions are clear, and if you are familiar with editing html files, it should be pretty easy. The instructions even have a screenshot to help.

Has anyone else had trouble transferring products over to the store? I added a few more than I probably should have, but it's been synching every hour for the last day and a half and still my shop admin shows nothing in the catalog.

Ahhh! I really want one! I do face to face business with people every day. My lover is a web designer, so I'm sure he could set me up something nice.
