I chose mine based on what they said they specialized in and what reviews they had already done. I noticed my mentor was kinky like me, so I thought it would be a good match. Some mentors also post that they're available on the forum here and talk about what kind of mentee they're looking for.

I would check out the reviews of mentors that catch your eye, and find someone that does reviews of the same style toys that you enjoy. The mentors I used, when I was in the program, wrote good reviews that *I* found helpful for picking products, and they both helped me to write my reviews.

That's retarted too, because they can get so many more free things it's ridiculous. But people that are just out to take advantage of Eden don't deserve all the goodies anyways. It peeves me to no end to see point farming, etc. At least what I feel to be point farming, anyways. Like a stupid smiley face on my wall or someone writing a non enthusiastic "great review" on my review.

It took me quite a while to do my first one - I think most of that time was spent worrying it wasn't good enough to submit!

Ok, new question related to reviews themselves - is there a set rule for providing measurement increments? An editor changed all of my "½" to "1/2" and I'm curious why...

I'd say that's just a style preference. Although I've edited some where the "½" shows up funny so I change it to be more legible.

They might have changed it because not all symbols (like ½) can be viewed on all operating systems.

But as far as I know, there's no set rule, besides that it be in a standard measuring increment.

Thanks I love being a mentor, it adds so much more personalization and opens you up to other people!

@JR - I feel like the students should at least have some sort of deadline. I give mine a week or two, then message them, then another week or two (thanks to a suggestion by kindred a long time ago) before I finally drop them.

But in the review program, to get a free item and do it we have about 2 or 3 week grace period to finish them. What happens if an advanced reviewer doesn't get one done?

Some mentors want their students to go through their classes in a few weeks. For some of us, as long as you're genuinely trying your best, we don't mind it taking longer. I've also found that the best reviews tend to come from those who are worried they aren't good enough to submit.

Read their reviews and look for a mentor with similar tastes, or one that you like their style.
