We just bought a 55" and a bluray & I'm in love with them both!
Do you own a Blu-Ray player?

I have a Blu-ray player hooked up to a 52'' HDTV, and I absolutely love it. Nearly everything I watch is in HD. Even my PC monitor displays a resolution of 1920x1080p. I wouldn't have it any other way.
Admittedly, I've never seen HD porn, but I'd really like to.

Same here. I've got a 1st gen, backwards compatible PS3 and I it! Blu-ray looks SO much better than DVD (I have a 40" HDTV) and they hold so much more data. I am so glad Blu-ray beat HD DVD, the quality difference is glaringly obvious.

In terms of quality, both Blu-rays and HD DVDs can display at 1080p, so there's no difference in quality. However, in terms of storage capacity, Blu-rays hold 25GB per side while HD DVDs hold 15GB. So, yeah, I'm glad Blu-ray succeeded over HD DVD.

My wife and I did not plan on getting one, but Christmas of 2009 when her parents were visiting, her dad said why don't we go to Best Buy and look at the electronics. We ended up leaving with a 50" tv, a blue-ray/surround sound system that can stream netflix, and a wireless router. The main reason we got all of it was so my wife could watch netlix on demand on the tv.

No blu ray here either. Wouldn't mind having one, but too many other expenses right now.

I plan to get one when we get our big screen TV.

I personally don't own one, but my family has a PS3 that I could use at some point when they're not home. I do eventually want my own but there's no way I can afford it right now.

A few imperfections are nice, really. But when I can see every single detail, I find myself thinking why won't they get that fixed??? Especially when it comes to moles. I'm all like oooh that could be cancerous, someone find her a dermatologist. It's very distracting for me.
I'll admit that when it comes to real life I am not at all shallow but in porn...yeah just a wee bit. less

See, this is how I feel. I'm in college. All my money goes to rent, utilities, and eating. The bills have been especially high this winter because I live in an old house and it's been below zero for weeks on end. We recently got to twenty-something degrees. When we got to 32 degrees it was like a fucking heat wave! (Damn this small town).

Got mine free with purchase of my TV about 3 years ago.

I have a Playstation 3, but I only use it for non-pornographic movies.

I have a PS3, but it's in the family room. Can't watch porn in there.

I don't have a blue-ray player and have no intention of getting one. I don't even have a standalone DVD player, my DVD player is my laptop and before I got it, it was my PS2. If I get a blue-ray player it well because I get a new laptop.

We have blu-ray players, and I love them. Now if they'd make a drive compatible with my mac, I'd be all set.

Our DVD player died just before thanksgiving, and my bf gets a friends and family discount at a local store. The day after thanksgiving he was able to get a really nice sony Blu Ray player for $15, that is the only reason we have one. I would have just got a DVD player because it is cheaper.
02/03/2011
I don't have one yet, though if I get a ps3, I will probably start watching blu-ray DVDs.

An HDTV has been on my wish list for so long...I needs it precious. In terms of quality, there's really no point in getting a Blu-Ray player and hooking it up to a non-HDTV. It'd be like cleaning only one side of a dirty window and leaving the other side dirty.
I predict DVD will go the way of VHS in about 5 years or less...probably less.
If you really want to be a trendsetter...get a 3DTV.

I don't care for movies nearly enough to ever invest in Blu-Ray. My entire DVD collection is 12 DVDs, so yeah, not all that into that kind of media. Plus I held out against DVD players as long as I could, I'm really just an old-school kinda gal.

I agree about DVD having less that 5 years, I'm not so sure that Blu-Ray will have much more than that either. Blu-Ray will probably never see the market penetration levels that DVD and VHS were able to attain. I believe that digital downloads and wireless streaming will emerge as the preferred formats.

As far as being a 3D trendsetter. We looked at 3D TV's back in November and they were just too pricey. I mean, they're nice and all, but they were double the price of a comparable non 3D TV. No thanks! There is just no way that I could justify the cost difference, especially when you consider the limited amount of content presently available in 3D. Maybe, I'll reconsider 3D in a couple years.

I haven't seen the need to get a Blu-ray player. My basic player works well and I think I only paid $20.00 for it.
02/03/2011
No. I rolled the dice with my HD DVD Player and lost.

Several members of the porn club have run in to difficulty this month due to one of the movies shipping in the Blu-Ray format only. I was kind of surprised by how many people have stated that they did not have Blu-Ray player yet. So it makes me wonder about the overall Blu-Ray market.
So, my simple question is: Do you own a Blu-Ray Player?
***Also feel free to add any comments below about your thoughts on Blu-Ray. Pros/cons, experiences whatever you'd like to add. Thanks everyone! less

We got a DVD player that also plays BluRays... and I have not watched a single BluRay yet.

I don't get the point of a Blu-ray player.
