Well, as an oftentimes overly linear thinker, I appreciate all the effort you put into it!
Thank you very much! I was never quite satisfied with the flow in Fairy Tale Lust. I tried to balance the contemporary and historical stories along with the darker and lighter tones (and then throw in first and third person), but there are places where it fell a little off. On the other hand, I think I succeeded in getting the flow right in Dream Lover. There were threads of details or background elements that just seemed to carry over from one story to the next giving a kind of organic cohesion. (My opinion, of course!) It was as much luck as skill, to be honest!

Oh yes, these stories were culled from the Best Women's Erotica series. I know we discussed reprints a couple of book club meetings ago-- were you disappointed in this collection because all of the stories were reprints? Were you aware of it ... more
I wasn't aware of it before I read it. It was sad. (I also realize that most people don't read as much erotica as I do, too.) However, if it had to be reprints, Violet Blue did choose a lot of good reprints. I remember loving the reprinted stories the first time around.

I think it might have been a hit and miss. Like with the two stories I mentioned earlier. One I couldn't picture anyone doing while the other I could so see (not myself of coarse-I am married) but another doing.

I think another one that was a bit off putting to me was "Fullfilling Megan" but that I think had more to do with the language used than anything else.

I like them somewhat disjointed. That way if I don't like a particular story, that doesn't mean I won't like the next one. I always think of these books as based on loose themes.

I loved almost the entire Fairy Tale Lust. And I did read it in order.

That's a good point. It does motivate you to keep reading if you know the stories will vary.

I think she's one of the best at selecting stories, whether originals or reprints. But I do know that disappointing feeling when you realize you've already read most of the material.

Were there any stories that were new to you that you particularly enjoyed?

Yes, exactly. I like your thoughts on keeping your thoughts based on loose themes.

I LOVED that story! It reminded me of myself...people are always shocked at how "wild" I am when they meet me cause I seem so 'normal'.
