Totally It sounds odd, but it's really true.

Actually it's the publishers who are setting the prices. Not Amazon. Many times it is to get your book near the top, get it reviews, or get people interested because it's part of a series with the next book soon to be published.

Very awesomesauce!

They're legitimate links. They're either Publisher sponsored or Amazon subsidized specials.

Well, don't stop! Some of us still cherish our well-stocked bookshelves!

Ooh.. he and I ran into another site awhile back that was doing something similar with book series. They'd give away the first in the series (with the publisher's permission) in order to drive sales up on the following books. I can't remember what the site is called tough.

what made you choose Sony, 'cause it was one of the first ereaders, maybe?

Mine does too. Actually I probably have enough books to justify a home library. But we live in an apartment, so ebooks are helping save space. It still won't stop me from buying regular books as well, just cut down the numbers a bit.

It sounds like the favorite so far is "Walking the Sub" by Salome Wilde. I think "Power over Power" by Emerald is my fave. Anyone else like that story?

I actually didn't like that one, but that is what is so great about these compilation books.

Amazon does some price setting, too. I don't wanna bore anyone (though this is secretly fascinating) but we did a "price scrub" search on one of our books and saw that they had changed the price 13 times in two days. Sometimes, at a loss for them!

It was actually a Christmas present from my mom. It being one of the first was part of it, but she chose it based on the fact that it could read PDF's.

Not odd really. Somehow, kinky and romantic are completely different in my mind. And while I know you can combine the two, for me, one causes a loving response (like when you read a romance novel), and the other causes me to want to grab hubby and drag his ass off to bed. LOL

Is that the one where the girl asked her martial arts instructor to take her?

They both did, in Mommy's Boy, actually.

It's surprising to me that so many people don't want to read about watersports---if anything, I would have changed the age play names. We're all so different!

I wonder if the original Pride & Prejudice is among them... Did anyone see that we will be reading an erotic re-interpretation this summer? So exciting! I was thinking about re-reading the original first...

Kindle can read PDF's too just smaller. I turn the kindle sideways with a PDF for clarity.

I agree. I always check it out anyway. Sometimes I'm shocked by what I find interesting or arousing, even if I don't want it for myself in REAL LIFE.

So long as it's not a loss for you.

I know that publishers and writers don't get rich quick off published books. And there's a lot of sweat and tears that goes into them. You have no idea how much I appreciate a well written book. I was raised to respect books and the value of the written word. So I would never want to do anything to hurt those that work so hard to put it out there.

Sorry, stepping down off my soap box now.
