Welcome Petite! Is this your first time joining us?

I can assure you that every book I've read from Cleis Press, and there are quite a few, has been extremely well edited, and the grammar is flawless.
Yes, first time. I wish I'd found out sooner.

Interesting perspective-- I agree that the BDSM is presented in a way that feels caring, even nurturing. Do you like that tone, or would you prefer your BDSM more hardcore? Anyone else have an opinion?
People who think that domination is all about pain and control can see it in a more positive side and have the courage to give it a try. However, depending on what readers expected from this book, some could have been disappointed not to read about more hardcore activities.

I'm usually a hardcore BDSM fan and not so much nurturing...at least in my fantasies.

I liked "The Sun..." - it was really good and well written, but not erotic, for me. Touching, though, and sweet.

I haven't read "Schoolgirl" yet, but the situation does sound like a turn on.
Agreed, I didn't think it really fit into the book at all, but it was definitely a good one.

Sorry I'm late guys! Forgot I was missing out!

My favorite story was either Catherine When She Begs, or On The Twelfth Day

Want to tell us why, Sammi? ("Confession" is one of my favorites, too, but I really liked most of the stories in this book because it's a theme I enjoy.)

"Confession" is about a wife who doesn't love her husband anymore, her confessions, and his revelation.

"Boardroom Etiquette" is about a woman high up in the finance department, and her rather provocative boyfriend who's a subordinate of sorts at work.

I hate giving spoilers too. There have been a few times where I did tho, because the content was such that people might want to skip that story.
Yeah, I am generally very careful when I write reviews, I try to leave out anything that could give the story away.

That was pretty vague, but I'm trying not to give spoilers either .

Confession I think resonated a bit, since I was brought up that way, and I just loved the way it was told and set up.

So many different favorites. I think I definitely need to get this book. It's a theme I think I would really enjoy too.

I actually found that the ones I liked least were written by men.... which is probably more telling of womens mental process than of anything else.

I agree, it comes down to the fact that the books are actually edited by a professional too, which is not the case with the stories found online. So far, in all the books I've read, I do not think I've seen more than 2 typos in total.

You know, that makes sense. But I'll bet it's kind of interesting to read how a man sees this type of situation. His perspective.

Did any of you read the book with your partner? M loves it when I read my erotic stories out loud to him, especially in scene.

I think that On the Twelth Day was too short for all the content that was squeezed in that story. It could have made up a whole book and end up just right for giving satisfying details about all the sexual activities.

Nothing wrong with that! I think the She's On Top/He's On Top books were a little more tender than other BDSM anthologies.

Am I the only one that doesn't trust the pen-names of erotic authors? I'm drawing a blank for examples, but I know there are a few men masquerading as females and vice versa.

That's really interesting-- although I've learned that the name under the story doesn't necessarily reflect gender.

I did point a few paragraphs to my boyfriend when I was reading and by the look on his face, they really turned him on. He's not so much in it for the "pain" and was more turned on by the well-written parts about the desire and sensuality described through them.

I know a number of authors who have both a female pseudonym and a male pseudonym. And a few who have several pen names for different types of writing they do. I'm pretty boring and just use my real name to avoid confusing anyone (mostly myself!).

Or possibly he just thought it was really hot having you read that to him?

Oh really? I've just read what you and Petite Valentine just said about that, and was surprised by that information. Now I'll be left second guessing the gender of the authors' names I see frequently in my anthologies.
