Sticking a spoon in the freezer and placing it on the bruise seems to speed up the heal time on me.

This may be somewhat unanswerable, or completely speculative, but what might make a highly intelligent college graduate want to submit so totally, to the point of slavery?

I remember in high school we used to put a spoon in the freezer and then apply it to hickeys. I don't remember it working...

That's fascinating. I've never heard of that and I was a nurse for 13 years.

I knew there was no hope for those, I was just hoping for some quick antidote for the tiny ones.

If someone has swelling, ice is always a decent treatment. Tylenol for discomfort, of course...

I am not aware of anything that might reduce the appearance of a bruise..other than good makeup.
Arnica cream has been used to treat bruises forever. It is not immediate, but if applied right away and a couple times a day afterwards, most bruises should be gone within 3 days tops (unless they are very bad ones). Also ice helps prevent bruising because the blood clots more quickly so the bruises tend to be mild.

I'm in the process of submitting totally into slavery to my partner and it's a release for me. I'm independent, but it's nice to know that when I'm at home with him I don't have to worry about the big decisions and such that extend past school and/or work.

Most people who are involved in S/M are highly educated and have good jobs. I learned that in psychology.

In our house I run the house completely as he is on the road 5 to 6 days a week, so when he is home he is in control. I dont want to be anymore. Lol

But she took it to the point of complete dehumanizing submission. She chose to become a non-person.

I would think that it would be that maybe they have too much power/control in the "normal" lives, or they have always been the one in control, that they like the idea of someone making all their decisions for them.

I dont know, but just a theory.

Awww, no need, but thank you for thinking of me, anyway!

At this point, I think the toddler's the greater threat, and she's only natural, not a disaster.

I started doing it on hickeys when I was younger, kind of goes with using cold things to reduce the bruising and bags under your eyes shrinking the blood vessels I think.

Sometimes dehumanizing is part of the process of being rebuilt to your partner's desire and molded to serve in the way that is pleasing to him/her. You have to let go of independence and learn to depend on that person. You also have to learn how to let go and dehumanizing is sometimes an extreme form of being able to let go and learn to submit completely without restraint.

That I get. That is totally different than the story in this book.

I raised four kids, homeschooled, drove them everywhere, took care of the house, bills, food, and worked for a living.

When it came to sex, I wanted to hand over the reins. Because I didn't want control any more.
