The +/- may be a different function than the macro (flower). It really depends on the camera. The +/- may be for the flash, for example. I'd suggest looking at your camera manual. If you lost it, you should be able to read it online.

If your camera only has an automatic setting, then yeah, that's going to happen.

I use a Powershot SX110 IS 10X optic zoom (wish I had more zoom).

That's called depth of field. I'll be getting into that in about a month on the articles. It will also be the theme for next month.

It is linner time for me. The chicken enchilada's are piping hot and the husband is plating. So, I will follow up when finished and see if I get my husband to show me some tricks with the camera. Could be a ton of fun!

if ur an amateur then I have no idea what I am. I just know to point the camera move back or forward and press the button.

My camera is old and the zoom in and out don't work well

OMG awesome!

I have been trying to play around with that but I don't think my camera is strong enough to get that kind of picture. A girl can dream...

I'll do that. I have another icon with a lightning bolt that is the flash. I guess I just need to mess around with it some more.

I'm sure it says the shutter speed somewhere, albeit perhaps only after the photo is taken. Again, your manual should help you a lot. You simply may not be able to adjust the shutter speed. Instead, focus on the amount of light (outside is far better than inside)

Lol, I am really amateur, I have had no lessons. I am just really passionate about photography and know very little from reading my manual and trying to be creative with the modes. But really I have no idea what I am doing most of the time. If my pics come out nice I'm happy, and grateful the camera knows what to do lol.

Whew, caught up. OK, how about a tiny photography break...

Guess what? I lied. There is another gift card to give away. It’s another trivia contest, so are you all ready? The winner of this contest will again be the first person to answer the following question correctly.

Keep reading the articles I post, and hopefully I can help you with where you want to go. The critiquing will help a great deal as well.
