I think the glare is an added plus in this photo to be very honest. I would just only suggest a little more negative space on the left side of it. But it is really good.

I love the smokestack and smoke. I like things off centered too, it kind of makes you feel like you are just sitting back and taking it all in.

The graveyard though I wish was more centered or had another focal point on the upper left but I like graveyards and everything to do with them. I still go to the old cemetaries around here (some are a few hundred years old) and do etchings. Now you have me thinking of taking pics there, never thought about that....hmmm.

Ohhhh I love playing with exposure. I have a lot of fun with moving around or letting lights drag. Where was this taken?

I can't believe I got the start time on this one wrong. I finally have the privacy to log on to EF (hasta la vista house guests a.k.a.invaders!) but I thought it was at 8pm.

@Vaccinium: Love that red photo. How long of an exposure was it?

Wow that is insane...in a good way. That would look incredible in my bedroom. Remind me to take a pic and upload it of a painting that a guy made me in Vegas. He did it with spraypaint and lids and a spatula.

Thanks, I like the little dust funnel that it caught in the background. I didn't even see it until I uploaded it. There is just something about the picture that drives me nuts.

The first one is definitely of the thought-provoking kind. It definitely grabs you and makes you stare at it to decipher its meaning.
It is a bit underexposed (in the foreground), though and is a bit busy. Perhaps a tighter crop would be in line to alleviate the second issue.
As for the second photo, I like the stark simplicity of it and its excellent use of negative space. About the only improvement I'd like to see is the smokestack moved slightly more towards the center.

Your opposite of me you take your photos center. Im really big on not centering my subjects. For the most part. I figured since this was about negative space Id post those. But I think like I said you could do with a little negative space and off centering things.

Great use of the mirror for this shot! It's a great idea.

It was at a railroad crossing a few miles from where I live. I actually had the shot set up for a train coming the other direction, but this one came the other direction so I had to scramble to get in position before the train passed.

I want to play around with this idea until I get it right. I have a couple of good sunsets that I couldnt get to upload but I will work on that this weekend and send you a link to the album and see if there are any that you want to use. I am going to Ft Hood this weekend, we are doing a welcome home celebration for 402 troops that were deployed last year and are coming home. I am hoping to get some good pictures then.
