I do. He sucks at it and if I'm not driving I'm hit and miss. I always have one on when I'm driving, and as soon as we get the free time while the places are open, we're buying new helmets. His excuse (always lame, I know) is that he doesn't have a helmet that fits him right. So I figure if we get him a helmet that fits right, he won't have an excuse and he'll wear it. My problem with my helmets are that they're both so big and bulky on me. One of them is a snowmobiling helmet, so it's supposed to be big, but still. Not comfortable at all.

Well, you'd know if a tsunami was generated from a local quake, because you'd feel the quake. In that case, the best thing to do is not wait to see whether there is a tsunami - just head to high ground immediately. If it was a distant quake (say, Japan), then you'd have hours and loud, audible tsunami warnings to let you know it is coming (in several hours).

OK, here we go.

The first person to answer this question correctly wins a $25 EdenFantasys gift card.

What is the easiest way to reposition your subject in a photo you’ve taken using photo processing software?

I tried explaining that too, but he was in paranoid mode. Needless to say we're back in the middle of the country and probably don't have to worry about tsunamis.

I just know how badly I was hurt being thrown from a trotting horse. I can't imagine how much more damage would be done being thrown from a motorcycle.

Congratulations Ivy Wilde! You’ve just earned yourself a $25 EdenFantasys gift card! Cropping is the term used for cutting out unwanted portions of a photo to reposition your subject inside your photo. Cropping is also useful to “zoom in” on an object, resize your image to fit particular dimensions, or eliminate distracting edge elements.

Another subject that requires great care with lighting is sunrises and sunsets. I think we’ve all taken at least one sunset or sunrise photo in our lifetimes, but were you totally satisfied with it? Did it appear on film or digital media the way you saw it?

Well?

Yay!!! Thank you!

I've really been enjoying reading your articles on photography. I haven't gotten through all of them yet, but I did make sure to read the two new ones since the last meeting.

No it's always darker than I want it to be.

No, the colors always appear more faded and less vibrant in the pictures.

Precisely. That's extremely common.

I've never gone down while doing more than a few miles an hour, but it took me a few years to heal some of the scars I got while learning, and those weren't even bad in comparison. I know how screwed I am if anything happens while I'm out in shorts and a t shirt or without my armored jacket or in bad shoes. But I make the conscious decision to risk it over heat stroke.

But I try to always wear the helmet to at least get a fighting chance.

Part of the reason could be what I'm about to talk about, but the saturation settings on your camera could be set low as well.

I was satisfied with my last sunrise shot, but I don't think I've ever taken a photo that looks exactly the way I see it with the naked eye.
