Hey guys! A few quick questions/ideas for you regarding some of the less defined contest ideas.
For the Healthy Recipes contest. Exactly how would you like to quantify what makes a recipe a winner? Would you like to see it as "Who's making the healthiest recipes?" The tastiest recipe? (Which I think would be a little hard to judge because not everyone has the same tastes) Tell me your ideas for how you would like to see this work if it wins!
For the Eliminating Junk/Processed Food contest. My idea on how to judge this would be effective, but may not work for all of you. The only way we have to prove this is if people journal their food intake. That is a very healthy practice, but I'm not sure how all of you feel about showing ounce for ounce what you put in your body. So, I'd love some feedback on this.
Now, for the one I'm most concerned about, the Healthiest Activities with Family contest. This is a GREAT idea. However, I am aware that some of you are:
1) Not married with children.
2) Do not get along with the family members you are around.
So here's what I was thinking on this: Make this "Group Activities." Like take your friends (who we all know can be more like family) and go hiking or rock climbing. Having a spouse or partner that your run with. Taking your small children with you to the mall and walking a mile or two (depending on what your weather is like) or going to the park with them. Swimming laps with your brother or sister. Just doing it as a group/with someone else.
So tell me what you all think!

I think healthy activities can fit both individuals and couples with kids. Friends, family, and everyone in a persons life should be involved. I wanted to stay away from healthy eating as there already is a cooking club here, and as you said, it would have too many variables on people's particular tastes. Also, calorie intake has to be pitted against activity levels and environmental issues.
Healthy activity gives people a range of things. Maybe, cutting out a snack, playing football with kids or friends. It gives them the ability to chose, in there environment, what will suit their needs.
