Just because I made it doesn't make it taste better; I just don't make food I don't like That said, I almost always prefer homemade with the exceptiosn of fine dining at a restaurant or for certain ethnic foods.

I find that when I cook for myself I love whatever I cook no matter what and I'm always shocked when I don't end up killing someone because I cooked for them. My friend attempted to make onigiri once (rice balls) and she totally undercooked the rice but it was the tastiest crunchy creation just knowing she went through all that work for me. less

Only because my partner, friends and I are such exceptional chefs!

Depends.
I feel like I've made better meals than a lot of fast food places, but when I go to fast food places that charge like $8-10(+) a plate, they do better than I do.
If it's like a $1 burger or taco or something, I'm positive I could do better than them. I think it has a lot to do with amount paid toward ingredients, as opposed to solely relying on the cook

Not always. There are some dishes that I can't recreate at home no matter how hard I try.

It depends on the dish. Obviously ethnic dishes aren't always as good

Depends on the dish. I think everything tastes better when it's homemade or cooked at home (as opposed to packaged food), but some things I prefer to order in a restaurant or think they taste better when someone else cooks them.

Self made is always the best, but that is only because I know exactly what I like.
