Everyone has a recipe that they're always begged to bring to pot lucks---and while my mom is an excellent cook in so many different arenas, whenever it's bale sale time, potluck time, or celebration banquet time, everybody says "[Mrs. Antipova], you'd better bring your raspberry jello stuff!" Since right now is bake sale fundraiser season, I figured I'd share this time-tested recipe with you all.
A very classic three-layer dessert, with a crushed pretzel crust, a velvety cream cheese center, and a raspberry jello (with fruit included) top---it might not sound like much, but taste it and you'll understand. It's a great dessert for any large gathering, and it's easy to make, too!
Welcome to the September Meeting of Eden Cooks! Eden Cooks is a cooking club for any interested members of the Eden community. We will meet on the forum to discuss everything from tips and pointers for less well-equipped kitchens, explanations of cooking terms, and important techniques. There will be a featured recipe each meeting, with pictures taken as I prepare it for you. I will cover some ingredient substitutions to make each recipe more friendly to people with dietary restrictions.
This September, I hope we can all share a bunch of simple and satisfying recipes with each other---they don't have to be desserts like this, but anything you can make time and again and always have your taste buds happy, let's all get sharing together!
During the meeting, five $10 gift cards to EF will be awarded to the winners of a trivia contest from information that I will provide during the meeting, and to those who share their own nationally-influenced recipes and stories.
The meeting will take place on the EdenFantasys forum in this very thread at 8 pm EST on Monday, September 18th. I'm looking forward to sharing one of my mom's best recipes with you, and I can't wait to learn all of yours!
