Wow would have never realized that. Thanks for the tip!

A lot of times I'll shallow fry egg rolls in a deep sauce pan because the high sides help with the splatter.

These are REALLY different from button mushrooms. But, if you don't like'em, leave'em out! I didn't use bamboo shoots.

I wish! As soon as I can tear myself away from this thread I'm baking myself an early birthday cake to make up for it!

I think they're not as difficult as I'd feared, just pretty time consuming! Looks like they were totally worth it though!

Awesome! It was a ot of work, but well worth it.

I had never really liked eggrolls a whole spectacular amount---until I tried these.

I'll probably attempt within the next week, it seems like you did a great job with it so it is certainly possible.

Looks great! Making egg rolls is definitely a labor of love. It takes a day to make them and five minutes to eat them all.

Yes!

Yes!, To me, preparing them seems to make the most sense as a social activity.

A good way to arrange the time, I found, was to have one person rolling the wrappers while the other cooked first the shrimp, then the pork, and the vegetables last. We all rolled the eggrolls up together.

Yes! Forsome reason I feel like I've seen eggroll wrappers in the produce section of grocery stores?

Now that we've made it through the cooking half of the meeting, it's time to get the the rewarding half!

Well, I mean, I already got to eat these eggrolls But EF has, as always, generously donated two $25 gift cards, and we'll be awarding them to the winners of two trivia contests.

The first gift card will be given to the person who can answer a trivia question from the questions I presented throughout this meeting. The second will be awarded for something a little less challenging, but just for shouting out a detail about your own cooking.

I love that kind of group/social food preparation! It's so fun. Sadly my kitchen is too small for more than 2.
