Depends what it is. I don't really like desserts straight out of the oven.
Do you let your desserts cool before you cut into them?

I try to be patient but sometimes if a warm cookie or hot cupcake comes out of the oven, sometimes it doesn't take long for me to give in and eat some. Though I do let my cakes cool and would let a pie cool if it needed. I love hot pie though, mmm....okay now I am hungry...grumbles and goes off in search of food.

I don't bake, but I'm usually the first in the kitchen trying to steal a piece away!

oh gosh, i love warm cookies right out of the oven too! they're so soft, crumbly and warm...

cookie dough is normally gone before it gets baked

lol the answer to this is "no, I don't wait." I usually start eating directly from the pan, be it cookies or pies, even if it's mouth searingly hot. There is no waiting for deliciousness.

they can't burn my mouth but i love it when they are still warm and gooey
02/27/2012
Definitely depends on the dessert! I tend to like my baked goods to be set up a bit but still warm and gooey inside, especially when it comes to things like brownies.

I wait, except for cookies!

My wife is the baker in the family, and usually I get my hand slapped going for things, "They need to cool first!"
03/05/2012
Cookies, brownies, etc. never get a chance to cool. They're awesome with ice cream (for that hot-and-cold effect). Other things like pies and maybe cakes do get waiting time.

sometimes

Just depends. Cookies I can usually wait for, but if I bake a cherry pie I just have to take a piece before it's fully cooled down

Sometimes I try to adapt my "now now now it tastes best when I can't hold it in my mouth!" strategy to other desserts, though... I just made this delicious pie in order to practice for the next Eden Cooks / Holiday Party meeting, and it smells soooo good right out of the oven that I really want to eat it.
But I know if I cut in immediately, the starch won't set and my pie slice will be a pie glop instead of a pie slice.

I like deserts that are fresh out of the oven, they're better warm
03/28/2012
i like to eat it fresh out of the loven yum.

I eat things before they get to the oven, under-cook them a little, then eat them right out of the oven. Summary = I'm awful. Also most baked goods taste better not-quite-baked all the way. Unless my crazy gourmet pastry-makin' boyfriend makes them, but I try to eat those right out of the oven anyway.

Most things taste better after cooling. I usually wait a day for sweet baked stuff. Non-dessert bread gets eaten as soon as it cools.

Depends on what I am making and what its being topped with

I don't bake...I just eat.
