Have a great night everyone!!!!
Bye Gary!

Unfortunately, the vet I take my cats to did recently retire. Sigh... But there are still several clinics available. But I will keep you in mind next time I have a question.
I generally can't diagnose without seeing an animal, but I can help you interpret things, particularly if you have things like lab work done.

I guess I might have a bit more wiggle room since my specialty is actually methodology, specifically, developing new methods for thermal-dissipation sap flow sensors, and some new stem hygrometers, which can be applied to many plants, in many places.

Is it a symptom of her being old? The vet says she is really old for her breed, but looks and acts great for her age. Can it be doggy dementia?

Dogs can definitely develop dementia as they age, just like people. Animals are living longer than they used to.

Well, yes. That would certainly open the field for you more since you aren't field-based. Lab-based ecologists have a lot more wiggle room.

I'm field-based and studied in Ohio and then Florida, and finding work in the Pacific Northwest has been...challenging.

That never makes much sense to me. If you've got brains enough to be doing what you're doing in the first place, you've got brains enough to adapt to a new system.

It's like any other business in that respect. You need the job-based training, but you can't get that job-based training without the job. Classic paradox. The state hiring freezes don't help much.

I'm trying to overcome it by writing two books on Pacific Northwest ecology. Once published, that should prove to everyone that I know something about the Pacific Northwest.

Will do.

I have no clue when that will be, though. I still need to get the photography done for them.

my friends found a dog like that. A little long-haired chihuahua that they named BeeBee. She had no teeth. It had been abandoned. It was so sad. She was very old and died several weeks later

Different audiences. My old roommate didn't have a problem finding Lane Bryant clothing on ebay for much cheaper, but that's pretty much my knowledge on that subject. And home schooling supplies, that I have ZERO clue about lol.
