I actually suggested to Twisted Finger (when I thought she was going to submit a proposal for it) that she make it like Iron Chef, where everyone is given a theme ingredient(s) and everyone has to make a meal that features it. Then everyone would post the recipe they came up with.

LOL I have a lot of girlfriends who have had me "dumb" down the process. Basically they tell me what they want to look like and I figure out the least amount of steps and products needed to achieve it.

It really is not that hard. But I have been doing it for years being of performances so it's like second nature to me. I can even do it in a bouncing car lol.

Grilled Cheese is so good though... you honestly can teach 100 different ways to make it. Here is a quick fun tip!

- Sprinkle some garlic powder, old bay, or whatever in the pan right before you put the bread in.

I think that it would be cool to have it function in two ways: a way for people who already know how to cook to try new things, and a place for people who don't know that you have to defrost a chicken before you cook it to get some basic tips on feeding themselves.

That would be fun. More creative than finding grandma's old recipes too. Though I now think both are needed. Yup. both.

It would spur people to go outside their comfort zone and try new things. Hell, isn't that what EF is all about at some point for all of us?

WHAT?!

true story,
my first semester in this apartment, I set off the fire alarm three times.

Once, I was making a grilled cheese sandwich
The second time, I was making fried rice.

My best friend was a dancer and whenever I model for her, she does in five minutes what takes me three hours and a paintbrush.

Shall I help out on the cooking club? There must be something more adventurous in cooking besides working within KG's digestive problems.

You can also fry up a piece of bologna with garlic powder too, and add it to the sammich.

The Iron Chef thing could be the monthly contest, and the meetings could be more instructional.

2 doesn't equal 3. And at my dorm last semester someone set off the alarm every week. Generally around 3-4 am. It. Sucked.

A seasoning mix from the Chesapeake area. Traditionally used on seafood (crabs) but used pretty much on anything. link

LOL sounds like she grew up like I did. It really takes practice. After you paint the same "picture" a few times, with different colors, it becomes routine.

If I did a workshop, it would be with pictures etc. possibly even video.

Okay, I clearly should not run a cooking club (SOMEONE should. Ahem. I know you people can feed yourselves.)

But what about like a recipe club? maybe not a CLUB, but someplace where people can swap recipes or create new recipes on a specific food group/item and report back with their results.

Now that is a club I'd have a hard time being a part of since I don't cook from recipes.

yeah I just mentioned that. I think that would be really neat, and convenient since I wouldn't have to search all over the web trying to find one.

Video would be really nice. Easier to follow along for sure.
