Something like what Best Buy has with their Price Match Guarantee.

In summary, they let you buy items that are cheaper at other stores that within 25 miles. Say I want to buy a keyboard but don't want to drive 24 miles just to get it. Instead I go to the nearest bestbuy that is only 1 mile away.

To qualify to buy the item at the best buy, the local competitor's item must not be on sale and it must be in stock. Maybe somehow we can incorporate something like this on this site. Ofcourse this is an online store vs a retail store so some rules maybe have to be changed more rules need to be added. less

I don't know if this exists, my mentor wasn't very clear, but we should have a 'roll-over' for the monthly free toys for the reviewers. So if you don't get one one month, the next month you could take two at the same time. ... see what i mean? and maybe have limits on it as to how many can be rolled, or if a missed month can turn into a discount or added value for the next month's toy or something. less

Mobile app isn't really all that likely. Apple would refuse to allow it to be distributed, and Google wouldn't allow it in the market.


I've mentioned it before.. if someone felt like doing the coding work an android app could be distributed freely by Eden (or the coder) but it isn't very likely. less

wait what? this is news to me. I must have missed the one toy a month part. I didn't even know that existed. I've read all the rules and guidelines and what not but some of them I have probably forgotten if they stuck at all. Can somebody please enlighten me? I am very curious less

Or Descriptive Review assignments (assignments where the reviewers job is to only describe and "sell" the toy)

or buyout assignments (30% discount in exchange for a review on any item on site)


Now, if you've only just started, and are going through the mentor program you can also receive 2 items through the mentor program in one month (or however long it takes you)

Free monthly assignments are available to Advanced Reviewers only, the value of which is based on rank.

And to clarify (only because the way you wrote it could be misread), free assignments via the mentor program are limited to $30 and are not in addition to free monthly assignments for Advanced Reviewers who happen to be enrolled as students. It's either or. less

Maybe a weekly game night or something for points or gc or something, like along the lines of name that toy or who makes it or name the price, I don't know, any type of games would be pretty cool to do or a trivia or a scavenger hunt, or maybe even mix it up, do some games one week, then trivia another and a scavenger hunt another week.

Also I think we should be able to edit our reviews when ever we like or maybe have an option of doing them over. I know some of my reviews suck and then after doing the mentor program I would love to do them over again, but can't since its been to long. less

Okay, I really don't know if this is the correct moment to bring something like this up, but I rarely get here on time and lately, I've noticed something that I decided to bring up when 2 other people here on EF had the same issue and mentioned their frustrations also. So I'll just mention it right quick...

The new-ish review rating system. It used to show up the person's screenname who voted right out beside what they voted (poor, extremely useful, somewhat useful or useful.) These days, the person's name does not show up right beside what they voted for, and unless you happen to be seeing a review that's only been voted on once, you cannot know who voted poorly.

No, the problem is not necessarily know who voted what, but this system has made it to where a lot of people (the same people!) will go through and vote the same exact poor rating on every review everyday to get their points, but it's very unfair for them to vote so poorly on a very clearly EU review! Or the other way around. Either way, I know a few select people who refuse to stop, although they have been asked. I sometimes like to ask people what they thought I left out of my own reviews in order for them to rate poorly. Course you can tell the ones who did it just because when they never give you a reason.

Either way, the problem is that these couple of people are continually voting poorly on all reviews, whether they're poor or not. I'm about 95% sure that these people aren't even reading the reviews given how close in time they're rating different ones. For instance, it takes longer than 14 seconds to read and rate 4 whole reviews. Get what I mean?

Well, that's all I wanted to say, I guess. I just hope someone has an idea as to what may discourage them from doing this over and over. I also notice two of them who are repeat offenders also keep posting the same exact polls on the forums only weeks or months apart and they definitely don't stop, even when someone points it out every single time they do it. less

They must be point farming AND trying to increase their own rank. Because it would attract a lot less scrutiny if they just voted useful.

That said, I once voted somewhat useful on a review because while there were a lot of words on the page, there really wasn't a lot of important info I wanted. I then got a berating message from the person.

So I see both sides. Private voting means people will be more honest in their rankings because they don't have to fear retribution or hurt feelings, but it also opens the window for point farmers. less

I know not everyone is Christian.. but what about an Easter Egg hunt around easter? Set it for a certain time period, and hide eggs in different places (reviews, forum posts, promotions, etc.) Certain numbers of eggs earn different "prizes" Example:


1-10 eggs: 10 percent off an order
11-20 eggs: 20 percent off an order
21-30 eggs: 30 percent off an order


so on an so forth.. however it is decided by the powers that be. Potentially even throw in a few prize eggs (with the Eden logo and everything of course) that are to win a specific toy, or a set number of points?


Obviously, it can be worked around so that it works better... but just an idea I had! less

As far as events are concerned, there's nothing I would like to see LESS of. I would like to see more chances for us to all get to know each other better though. It would be great if we could figure out some team events. That would be interesting. Team challenges? Something to get us all together and involved. less

I know the coloring sheet idea has already been brought up... but what about some graphic/infographic design contests?

We surely have some skilled artists here, and it would be cool if there was a contest to have a design ran as the Eden logo for different holidays or certain events. (Could also take a little work off of the plates of those that get a paycheck to design these things for Eden)
