yeah sure I would! I have a really lovely custom collar and it's sort of a shame it sits in it's box the majority of the time.
And of course, just because someone's wearing a collar doesn't necessarily mean they participate in BDSM...it's a fairly common fashion statement, too.

I wear collars around the house and stuff a lot but I don't think I would wear a big one out. Possibly one of my smaller ones though. Honestly though, I think my girlfriend would be more weirder out then I would be.

I'm surprised that the people that are saying "no" are equating collars with the type a dog would wear. My friend has a collar from her master that is a simple necklace with a small silver bell as the charm. The bell is very delicate (looks like it is made of out flower petals) and just really gorgeous. A "collar" doesn't have to be leather with metal spikes. (Though, if that's what you prefer, that's cool, too! )
With this in mind, would people be more open to wearing a collar if it was more like a piece of jewelry and less akin to what most people here are equating it to?

I'd wear a bdsm collar in public. Probably not around my parents, but out in public, I could give a shit. I'm not collared, my wife and I don't have that kind of relationship. but a few weeks ago, she collared our pets, and then herself, and gave me the leashes to all 3 of them. hers was made of chain though, cause she's a bit more unruly

I feel like if you want to wear a collar there is a way to make it work without being too obvious if you aren't into that sort of thing. I know I would enjoy being collared and definitely would figure a way to work something into my everyday life even if it was just a special necklace.
