I do not generally have safe words with people. They are a false sense of security. I do have safe signals, however, and I'm generally not a jerk, so I can tell when someone's ready to stop. They merely need to say "No, I'm done," and I'll get the picture, even in some of my more extreme play.

Another thing that I've told people to do is grab my leg. It is a good safe signal because usually, I'm not being touched during a session. less

My girl and I don't actually have one. We've been married for almost six years, and in a 24/7 D/s relationship for almost six years, so for our lifestyle there isn't a need for one. When we were first beginning, however, we used mercy. "No!" "Stop!" etc. can spring to mind, even while playing or training, yet "mercy" took more thought.
