Safe words: what's yours?
06/26/2013
My girl and I don't actually have one. We've been married for almost six years, and in a 24/7 D/s relationship for almost six years, so for our lifestyle there isn't a need for one. When we were first beginning, however, we used mercy. "No!" "Stop!" etc. can spring to mind, even while playing or training, yet "mercy" took more thought. I LOVE a silly safe word, though, and I love this thread.

We don't really have a safe word now, but when we started it was rainbow. It's something none of us would ever say during the session. Since we have different colored toys and red is included it's hard to use the original ones.

I don't think I have one...unless you count OW as one or GODDAMMIT.

I do not generally have safe words with people. They are a false sense of security. I do have safe signals, however, and I'm generally not a jerk, so I can tell when someone's ready to stop. They merely need to say "No, I'm done," and I'll get the picture, even in some of my more extreme play.
Another thing that I've told people to do is grab my leg. It is a good safe signal because usually, I'm not being touched during a session. less

Mine is as well. I find that in the moment, I often have a hard time remembering safe words. I tried others in the past, but "safe word" has always been the only one that really sticks with me.
