Gender/Dominance

I'm curious as to the trend in dominance/ submissiveness between men and women. This is referring to mostly in the bedroom, but please post unique situations and let us know.

I tend to be more submissive, but I put switch because I definitely have my dominant moments, and sometimes they last more than simply one night.

(female) i tend to be more submissive as well. but there are definitely moments where HE wants to be dominated, and some moments where I want to dominate. it just depends on the mood i suppose. but for the majority, submissive.

I'm a female submissive. I don't have a dominant bone in my body. I tried topping once, and it didn't go to well.

I'm a DOMINANT FEMALE BOTTOM. There is a difference, although most people don't get it.

It bothers me when people use dominant/top and submissive/bottom interchangably.

For me whether I am dominant of submissive varies based off of both mine and my boyfriends mood.

I'm very interested in knowing the difference. Could you elaborate on it?

Sure! I prefer things to be done to me where I am not necessarily the active participant (I'm a bottom, or lazy... take your pick), but I am not submissive in any way. In fact, I will tell someone what to do, exactly, and I am always in control of the action and situation (thus, I'm dominant, or bossy... take your pick again!). If I wanted to be the active participant, I'd just masturbate and get it done easily and without hassle. In any case, I don't like being told what to do, I don't bow to anyone's will and I don't take orders. If a person approaches me with that mindset (and men have, many times: "I'll show you how a real woman is supposed to act in bed"), I am instantly turned off. If a person approaches me with the will to please, I'll take it! Easy as pie!

I'm a female/submissive but have my dominant tendencies. Speaking of which, I actually beat someone's ass today

Thank you, that was very concise and makes sense.

I am mostly submissive but just now coming out of my comfort zone and trying out my hand at dominance. Luckily I have a great Dom to teach me ^_^

I'm a good, loving dom most of the time. But I feel like if my bf was more dominant I could be such a good little sub... *sigh*

I am female, and my boyfriend and I are both submissive switches, but of the two of us I'm more dominant in more ways than he is.

I'm a switch, leaning more towards sub.

I'm typically more submissive, but I occasionally like to top so I identify more of a switch.

I find it almost amusing that I'm the first to click "male and a Dominant."

I relate to this sentiment quite a bit, but am not sure I'm ready to claim "dominant."

In BDSM, I'm strictly submissive. Tie me up, spank me, bite me, dominate me, make me mind you, do with me as you will, but don't ask for it back. Sexually, I'm a switch. I like to please and be pleased.

I think it's 1) that so few men are on Eden to even respond to the question and, 2) that, from my experience, many men who identify as dominant are not into alternative forms of sexuality, and thus would not be part of a community like this!

You are special.

I'm submissive and I think that has to do with the fact that at work I have to be in charge. I argue with doctors, have to be calm under pressure and take charge when things go bad and be the "rock" to people families that when In bed I want someone else to take charge.

I'm not identifying as female or male today, so other. I'm a switch; some days I like topping but other days I want to bottom. My gender for that day has little to no bearing on my sub/ dom status.

I never realized how few males are on Edens until I saw this post! Male submissive, but I'm the main toy provider in my relationship. More boys need to get into getting their partners toys!

I like either being submissive, or fighting for power rather than being the only dominant one. I like my partner to be the dominant one.
