Do you like suffocation?

Contributor: Epicurean Epicurean
I was reading an older thread here about where people draw the line and was surprised to see how many people mentioned suffocation. When an ex-ex boyfriend first suggested it to me about 5 years ago, I was horrified at the idea, but now I LOVE being choked, with a hand or with a belt. I get choked most times I have sex now.

How do you feel about asphyxiation?

I like it, but I don't LOVE it.

No way. Asphyxiation is something I'm not interested in at all. That's not part of my idea of love making.

I'm not really interesting in it but my partner loves it when I do it to her.

I wouldn't even do it if she asked.

I couldn't and wouldn't do that, or let someone do it to me.

I don't like choking, if not done properly, it can be very dangerous. My Man won't do it, anyway. He has put the pillow over my face, and things like that, but more for the noise I make. LOL!

I do think I would panic if a hand was put over my mouth and nose, I've seen this done in some BDSM videos, and know people who get into it, but I panic easily from certain things, and not being able to breathe is one of them. Anything that triggers my vagus nerve will set me off. So, no, I am not crazy about this stuff.

Some people like it and know how to do it carefully and fairly safely, though.

I wouldn't do it - too scary for me. I'd be afraid of death. And I wouldn't do it to my man either.

Asphyxiation acually starts to kill off brain cells. I think I would rather keep mine and my wife's intact and working.

I could never bring myself to allow that to happen to me. I'm just not into that.

Sort of.

I like having a hand placed between my shoulder and my neck, but I am wayyyyy too uptight and paranoid to engage in anything more intense.

I have to be in the right mood to enjoy it which isn't very often. However there are times that I absolutely love it.

I'm a bit new to asphyxiation, but I love it. I had my first experience with it a month ago, and it was amazing. Since then, my husband and me have experimented with it on our own to great effect.

I try to stay away from the word asphyxiation but we definitely partake in breath play for short amounts of time and we both love it. It is definitely a form of play that you want to be very educated and cautious about, but it can be incredibly rewarding.

It's not something that particularly appeals to me, but I'd be willing to try it if a partner wanted to try it, provided we worked out how to do it safely ahead of time.

Breath play scares the everloving hell out of me. I have issues with my throat being touched, and so it's hard to not freak out over having that happen *and* having my air supply cut off. My Sir is currently working with me to try and get me over my fear, and it's not quite as bad as it used to be, but breath play is still not something I would say I enjoy.

I am not otherwise into BDSM, but I LOVE being choked during sex, and my man is great about doing it at just the right moment. I trust him completely, and he is very cautious so as not to hurt me or leave any bruises on my neck.

It's not an all the time kind of thing for me, but when it fits into the sexy session it's definitely something I like

A guilty pleasure of mine my lover doesn't much care for that much. I find it's quite romantic. It's like saying you'd give your last breath for your lover.

I agree! It's putting the ultimate trust in your partner.

I like it but not too intensely. I like an amount where it's difficult for me to speak, but not trachea-crushing.

I like to be choked, but at this time in my life I am not interested in suffocation. It may change, but I enjoy the power exchange of a hand at my throat, but I want to still breathe.

My boyfriend does it if we're spooning during sex, and it just seems... right? Idk, it really turns me on but it's just a hand around my neck and I seem to already be holding my breath anyway!
But I feel it's very dangerous and it doesn't happen for very long anyway.
It's not like a belt or a squeezing and his weight isn't on top of me. I don't think i would enjoy that and I don't think I'd enjoy a hand over my mouth/nose.

The first time it was done to me was with a dominant friend. He just put his hands around my throat. I was very young, and we didn't have any discussions about safe words/gestures. It was foolish, even though he knew what he was doing. I'm so lucky nothing happened.

I adore the feeling of submission, but also the loss of blood to the brain. It's too risky for me to do it with anyone but my primary partner. Even then, I get a little scared. So I crave it and fantasize about it all the time, but indulge in it in what I consider a safer way: no pressure that would constrict arteries, but enough to make me feel dominated.

What a tough fetish to have--for either party. Imagine having someone's life in your hands, literally. Perhaps the one you love most! Ugh! I'm glad I'm a sub

Sometimes I like it and sometimes I don't. Often if he's getting me from behind I'll draw his hand up over my mouth, and relish in that for a while. It makes my pleasure feel so much more intense. Then when/if I'm ready, I signal to him by pressing my nose down against his hand, and he'll push up to block any air. I like this best of any suffocation we've tried because if I start to panic, I give a sharp tug, and his hand comes away and I can breathe again.

I really like it. I like the feeling of my husband's hand around my throat. He has never gone too far in which I couldnt breath, but he does squeeze pretty firmly. He hasn't really done anything like shove my head into a pillow, although I probably wouldnt mind.....
