Looking for something more natural than Viagra® to get the evening started? According to the New York Post, New Yorkers are paying $800 an ounce for the privilege of chowing down on dead silkworms that have been killed and entombed by fungus.

This natural anti-impotence drug can be crushed and sprinkled onto your morning meal, or brewed into a tea, but unlike Viagra, it won't work immediately. People who pay for the worms swear it's a miracle worker, though.

Thomas Leung, owner of Kamwo, a Chinese herbal pharmacy on Grand Street, says he can remember when the worms sold for as little as $6.50, but because of all the hype, there's a high demand.

So high, in fact, that 35 men currently stand on trial in Nepal for cavalierly taking the lives of seven people from another tribe who were "poaching" worms on their turf. A verdict in the case is expected next month.

Leung says no. “People always ask, 'Is it really that good?' And I say, 'It's not $800 good.'”
