We're filing this gem under "More things not to do before your wedding day." Don't jeopardize the nuptials by ending up under a restraining order, right?
Billy Stupart, 28, a man from Dundee, Scotland, found himself forcibly separated from his fiancée Fiona Soutar, 30, after they fought over a stripper Stupart met at his bachelor party. Stupart was restricted from being anywhere near Soutar and his best man Christopher Strachan. Apparently, Soutar called the police after Stupart became violent toward Strachan.
The trio appeared before Dundee Sheriff Court on April 4, where Stupart pleaded not guilty to the charges. But upon granting bail, Sheriff Tom Hughes put stipulations on Stupart's freedom. Soutar told the sheriff the marriage was going to go on as planned, and pleaded with him to lift the restriction, but he was unmoved. So they took their case to the High Court in Edinburgh, where Lord Mackay overturned the sheriff's ruling just in the nick of time.
You crazy kids. Hope it works out!
