File this under Surprise News of the Day (sarcastically, of course)—the FDA is now warning that “Man Up Now” pills contain unlabeled chemicals that could dangerously lower blood pressure for certain amorous lovers. So, guys; just put that herb down and walk away slowly.
The “Man Up Now” manufacturer claims that the supplement contains herbal components that can enhance sexual performance without a prescription and “without harmful side effects.” But the FDA discovered that the supplement contains sulfoaildenafil, a chemical cousin to the active drug in Viagra called sildenafil. When combined with prescription drugs like nitroglycerin and other nitrates, the chemical cocktail can lead toward a sudden drop in blood pressure, causing dizziness and lightheadedness. (Not to mention, depriving one’s brain of precious blood, can’t forget that.)
