This is probably one of the saddest things in boob-related news I've heard in a long time. And, unfortunately, reinforces everything we hear about the damage caused by society's current stance on beauty.
Sheyla Hershey, 31, of Houston, Texas, is in a coma due to an overdose on prescription medication. At bra size 38KKK, the Brazilian-born wife and mother was in the Brazilian Guinness World Records book for having the largest augmented breasts in Brazil. Recently, due to a staph infection caused by an augmentation surgery Hershey had to have her even-larger MMM implants removed; she had reportedly been scheduled for surgery to go back to KKKs.
The Sun reports that Hershey is diagnosed with bipolar disorder, and was being treated for a "boob obsession" when she attempted suicide for the second time in two months.
Hershey is quoted as saying, "I feel so ugly without my breasts. Without them, I don't know who I am."
The model's husband, Derek, told reporters, "Doctors don't know when she'll wake. I just pray she gets out of it."
As do we. We think we'd also like to have a little chat with her surgeons.
An interview with Hershey, before the removal surgery:

This article really makes me sad. But, I am not sure for exactly what reasons. I don't know if it is disappointment in this Hershey's obsession or the overall sadness of the situation.
