Ladies! Do you have trouble with constricting muscles... down there? Do you deal with painful, persistent burning not related to "The Clap" or a urinary tract infection? Have you been diagnosed with vaginal conditions such as vulvodynia or vaginismus? Then Botox is the thing for you.
What?
Dr. Peter T. Pacik, a New Hampshire plastic surgeon, is conducting an FDA-approved trial to see what affect, if any, botulinum Toxin A, the active ingredient in drugs such as Botox or Dysport, has on the aforementioned conditions. Pacik says he sees women who've been through emotional or physical trauma whose vaginas contract painfully, making penetration impossible.
“Almost to a patient, they say it’s like hitting a brick wall,” says Pacik. “It’s uncontrollable and involuntary.”
He says before he injects his patients, he puts them to sleep to avoid stressing them out anymore than is necessary. Then he injects Botox directly into the affected area.
Of his 79 patients, only one hasn't shown promising results. As in, being cured with only one treatment. With results like that from a product we're already injecting into our lips and foreheads, why not there, too? Whatever makes sex with our partners comfortable and delicious, right?
