This is going to be hard to believe but it seems that sometimes when you meet people in person whom you first met online—they are not who they appear to be.
We’ve all seen the Facebook warning that so-and-so “only shares some profile information with everyone.” Well, we’re not sure if 21-year-old Adam Minton had that on his page but he certainly withheld his evening plans from Leah Gibbs, 23, when the pair hooked up through the social networking site.
Gibbs was doing the driving and thought she was going on a normal date and so, when Minton asked her to stop by a betting shop and wait outside, she evidently thought nothing of it. Minton went into the shop and, News.com.au reports, then ran out of the shop with a knife in one hand and a bag of money in the other. He had set Gibbs up as his getaway driver.
From News.com.au:
“Minton ordered Ms. Gibbs back to his house and then tried to bundle her inside. It was at that point that she decided the date was over.”
Atta girl.
Minton was reportedly a cocaine addict with massive debt. Gibbs was arrested with Minton but released after he admitted he acted alone.
Ten to one she’s over hooking up online. Takers?
