Oh, Twitter. You silly little tweeting bluebird. What have you stepped in this time?
It seems F-secure, an Internet software company, caught the social networking giant with the second highest number of users “accidentally” retweeting porn spam to all their one million and change followers. Oopsie.
The link in one tweet went to getiton.com, and the other went to camsexroulette.net.
The bio on Twitter's @TopTweets page says that @TopTweets "algorithmically selects and retweets some of the most interesting tweets spreading across Twitter." And Twitter's claiming that the owners of the accounts the tweets came from must have hacked @TopTweets or Twitter or something.
Of course they are.
But never fear, moms and dads! The global conversation is (semi) safe for little Johnny and Tina once again. Twitter not only deleted the tweets from their @TopTweets account, but they also suspended the accounts of the tweeters who allegedly found a way to beat the system. And we're sure they're the only porn pushers on the web.
